"Wealthier families are flocking to neighborhoods with better schools and educational services. The result is less diversity in a growing number of neighborhoods in the nation's largest cities."

Here is a web page for the author of the "study." On it, it says---

Her research centers on the causes and consequences of social inequality, with a focus on urban neighborhoods, housing, education, and geographic and social mobility.

Now, I'm no research fellow at the Center on Poverty and Inequality like she is, but I heard tell those gene things do all sorts of amazin' things. Yes sir, pardon me while I use my spittoon, all sorts of amazin' things.

People want to live amongst their own kind and in their own culture. It’s normal, and that’s why the Left hates it.

If Mendoza’s solution is to encourage the non-white parents to try harder in all aspects of their lives and to help their kids to learn more and have a solid respect for honesty and decency, then I might listen to what she’s saying. If she’s demanding that whites have to commingle with inner city denizens through some kind of forced government quota system to make everyone equally miserable, she’s cordially invited to belly flop off the Golden Gate Bridge.

Most people don’t want to send their kids to schools where feral animals run wild.

By contrast, 64 percent had parents who expected them to finish college; of those, 36 percent were expected to go to graduate school.

Expectations and reality are two different things. The actual numbers of those who graduate college and those who get a Master's or Doctorate are much smaller.

There’s rarely if ever any sort of consideration for a prejudice that most people have and it isn’t racial nor xenophobic. It’s behavioral. And it isn’t illegal under any existing laws against discrimination. It isn’t illegal to wish your children to be removed from an environment where learning itself is considered racist and the subservient and respectful behavior required in the teacher-student relationship is accepted and not thought of as a permanent devotion to the hated and horrible but nonexistent condition of slavery.

There’s nothing illogical nor deprivational with the idea that miscreants and bad actors create chaos and erode the learning experience and thus the results of same. They should be avoided, simple as that, unless you wish your kids to emulate them. Who needs a Harvard professor to create some cockamamie theory as to unequal outcomes or white privilege or residual racism left over from the slavery era?

Liberals are always saying “move forward”. They never practice it if it has the potential to jettison these destructive and counterproductive impulses and thereby remove some class of people from the endless glorification of victimhood. It only reinforces and perpetuates victimhood. But never can they accept the miserable results of their own ideology and forced conformance.

I’m not a racist. I’m a behaviorist. I don’t wish to associate with people looking to victimize me or others out of a sense of their own victimization or for any other reason. I don’t wish to be around bad behavior and the glorification of criminality. I don’t see what’s so hard to understand about that that ever-more-arcane specious theories must be invented by eggheads only interested in their next study grant and utterly unaccountable for and oblivious to their objectively sub-mediocre results.

George Washington Carver was mildly crippled, orphaned, fosters, and grew up to invent may things which helped his race and the human race in general.

Middle class white kids whose parents have white-trash culture - although they do not think they do - can move their kids into millionaire dollar houses in neighborhood with good school districts and can end up destroying the culture there.

It is basically about culture. There are a lot of broken homes in the ghetto, but there are a lot of whites who move out and are not developing a better society.

The typical well educated upper middle class white couple is very liberal on the issue of civil rights. Just ask them. That these entirely modern products of the liberal consensus still seek out neighborhoods lacking in diversity... well... this is a shocking development indeed.

1) The Elites want their kids to have an advantage in life.

2) Not all Elite kids have superior IQ, and so there is a limit to how much of an advantage better education will give them.

3) The middle class also produces smart kids, many with IQs higher than the average Elite kid.

4) The way to ensure the Elite kids maintain a superior position, is to cripple the educations of the regular middle and working classes.

income inequality

Just another false narrative developed by losers to advance statism/socialism. Of course you have income inequality. The labor market rewards higher skills/rarer abilities with more money. How many people can hit a major league pitch .33 of the time and knock it to the outfield? Not all that many. Should they get the same pay as someone who works at burger king and whose talent is limited to the ability to produce 10 second belches?

The ignorant jackass, Jessica Mendoza, who wrote this acts as though "income inequality" is a bad thing. Income inequality is a wonderful thing. It's what fuels capitalism - the best economic system ever to be developed.

Cultural programming is powerful.

We see it in the persistance of language despite everything else. In Brazil, Portuguese remained long after the Pope divided the world between Spain and Portugal.

More than 1,500 years after the Fall of Rome, Europe is still culturally divided between the Germans and the Romans--basically in the way people think and perceive life and the world. This was a shocking revelation to me when I first lived in Europe.

Such cultural conditioning can be difficult--even impossible--to alter.

I assume that the author is a racist, she sees all of this through the lens of race. Sadly, as racist as many of the posters here on FR.

I live in an Ozarks county that is over 95% white. All of the problems she listed and claimed results in less diversity are problems I see with the poor whites here. Drug use, no fathers in the home, criminality is culturally accepted, high drop out rates, teen pregnancy, lots of kids in foster care, and dependence on government handouts. The culture of generational poverty isn’t based on race.

I heard tell those gene things do all sorts of amazin' things

It looks like many libs still believe in the blank slate i.e. tabula rasa theory. In other words, people/children are only what society puts into them. Genes account for nothing.

The reality is in America genes determine 80-90% how a person will do in life. Sorry, but it's hardwired. Libs have been doing the "diversity is great" scam for many decades now.

Tell that to the white teacher on Long Island who was recently choked and knocked out by a black mother whose child had been mildly disciplined by the teacher. After getting a call from her unruly brat, the black mother went to the school, charged past security, and attacked the teacher. While the teacher was down on the hallway floor unconscious, other black students surrounded her and kicked her in the head.

Many more instances like that occur in our nation's "diverse" schools. So how's that diversity working out lib teachers?

A great deal of the cause of “resegregation” is the dumbing down of public schools. Instead of grouping low achievers together and giving them special help, while higher achievers can learn at their own speed, public schools have held everyone to the level of the slowest.

It’s not just white people who put their kids in private schools. Black professionals, lawyers, doctors, etc, move into their own neighborhoods and send their kids to better schools, too.

This writer is just another liberal trying to start a race war.
