When Donald Trump spoke earlier this week in Buffalo, media critics lambasted him for allegedly confusing 9/11 with 7/11. However, a theory emerged as to why Trump didnt misspeak, one that the media refuses to acknowledge.
The controversy all began Monday, as Trump was speaking before a crowd in Buffalo on the day before the New York primary. During the speech, he touted his 9/11 activism.
I wrote this out, and its very close to my heart, Trump said to the audience. Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came own. And I saw the greatest people Ive ever seen in action.
Donald Trump, who has made his advocacy for New York City after the 9/11 attacks central to his candidacy, accidentally referred to it on Monday as 7/11 the ubiquitous convenience store, CNN wrote with scarcely contained glee.
However, a new theory quickly emerged the fact that he was actually talking about the Greenville Fire Department, a department in the New York town of Scarsdale that was one of the first to respond to the 9/11 attacks.
The station is known as 711 because of its address, 711 Central Park Ave. And as one Facebook user close to the situation pointed out, the firefighters there were quoted as thanking Trump for his generous donations of time, services and goods, both for the firefighters and for the victims. And keep in mind, the way Donald phrased things made it sound a lot more like he was talking about a location, not a date. His words were our firemen down at 7/11, not our firemen on 7/11.

Don’t know what God has to do with it, but being married to a professional firefighter I know that thier station names mean things. If you have to invoke God for fire station naming, you’re trying way too hard to defend this mistake.
You beat me to it...(I didn’t see your post before I put in mine...:o)
Sorry, he simply misspoke. Not a big deal.
The 711 fire station isn’t Scarsdale either.
They are claiming peremptorily that their station is never called 711.
Terminology used among them, I would believe it.
Terminology used among someone else, I would need independent confirmation. They sound way too cocksure. I would expect to hear something like “we have never heard ourselves called that.”
It’s 23 miles +/-. Close enough given the givens and the response of the Scarsdale FD to the 9/11 events.

Just goes to show you what sorry sacks of crap pass for reporters and journalists when they didn't check out what he had in mind with "down at 711" or ask the local folks instead of rushing out their BS about him making a gaffe when he did nothing of the sort.
His praising local firefighters turns into him saying something that never came out of his mouth, though, so the Cruzbots are happy because they grabbed a headline and got some trash for their little yellow minions to spew.
That's par for the Harvard Lawyer course.
Now it all makes sense - couldn’t see how somebody could be “down at 9-11” but you can be down at a location.
Who will get his delegates when he drops out? /s
Sorry, but your analysis is flawed. Up doesn’t always mean north and down doesn’t always mean south. I omce lived in a city where uptown was west of the center of the city and downtown was to the east. Plus a suburb where my girlfriend lived was located directly south, but was referred to with the name west.
Just add this to the other hair brained and breathless attempts to discredit Teflon Don. A perfect example of how technological advances have made people look like jackasses and jumped to incorrect conclusions or stuck their feet in mouths.
Siding with leftist Chicago scum over Republican voters.
Michelle Fields.. Need I say more.
Attacking Trump for Brussels bc of NATO comments.
Blaming NE article on Trump when It’s common knowledge Rubio was shopping it for months.

*Please feel free to add anything I missed that might have turned other former supporters against Lying Ted Cruz.
lol you’re kidding right? please tell me you’re kidding
you all are serious, aren’t you?
good. let’s send her to visit the north.
No...That is a fact...I can’t think of his name, but I’ll get back to you with it...
My "analysis" isn't flawed, because it isn't "analysis." It's reporting. I'm telling you, I'm from the area. UP is NORTH. Period. It doesn't really matter what people in other cities say, because we're not talking about other cities. If you're in New York City, and you're talking about Scarsdale, or any of the Westchester bedroom communities, they're UP. Trump is from New York City. Scarsdale is up. This stupid internet story is BS.
If one lives in Scarsdale they may be used to saying "I'm going down to #711" because they are local in that town, also depends where their house is located in relation to the #711.
If Trump was in Scarsdale at the time, he'd say "down". If he was in NYC and was on his way to #711, he'd say "up".
This is a silly argument anyway. Wait for the video showing him at the #711 :-)
