Sorry, but your analysis is flawed. Up doesn’t always mean north and down doesn’t always mean south. I omce lived in a city where uptown was west of the center of the city and downtown was to the east. Plus a suburb where my girlfriend lived was located directly south, but was referred to with the name west.

My "analysis" isn't flawed, because it isn't "analysis." It's reporting. I'm telling you, I'm from the area. UP is NORTH. Period. It doesn't really matter what people in other cities say, because we're not talking about other cities. If you're in New York City, and you're talking about Scarsdale, or any of the Westchester bedroom communities, they're UP. Trump is from New York City. Scarsdale is up.
