Ted Cruz on Thursday criticized the backlash to North Carolina's transgender bathroom law after Republican presidential rival Donald Trump indicated he opposed the controversial measure.
"We have gone off the deep end. This is absurd," Cruz said during an interview with conservative radio host Glenn Beck, a backer of the GOP White House hopeful's campaign.
Beck asked Cruz how he'd argue that his position isn't aimed at targeting transgender people but rather at "the heterosexual pervert" who would try to flout gender-specific bathroom laws.
Cruz pointed to his two daughters, ages 5 and 8, arguing that the younger one "knows the difference between boys and girls."
"You've got the Obama Education Department suing to try to force junior highs to let teenage boys to shower with teenage girls," he later said.
"That's crazy. It's not a reasonable position," Cruz continued. "The idea that grown men would be allowed alone in a bathroom with little girls — you don't need to be a behavior psychologist to realize that bad things can happen, and any prudent person wouldn't allow that."
"When you deal with people who are repulsive perverts and criminals — there are some bad people in the world and we shouldn't be facilitating putting little girls alone in a bathroom with grown, adult men. That is just a bad, bad, bad idea," the Texas senator said, mentioning his experience as solicitor general in Texas handling cases of "child molesters, of pedophiles."
Trump earlier Thursday morning said North Carolina unnecessarily mandated transgender people use public restrooms that correspond to their biological gender in legislation aimed at preventing cities and counties from passing their own nondiscrimination ordinances.

As I already stated, this is THEIR problem, not ours. We need to be protected by our employers, and the establishments we do business with FROM these fringe people. It all has to do with safety.
The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few.
This is not to say that I have no compassion for these people, I just do not want to take ownership of their problems, or subject my loved ones to them, if I can help it.

I take moderate exception to that LUKE, I am not a droid at all, I am discussing the issue, not the candidate.
I commented earlier on the candidate, then moved on to the issue.
We already know that mathematically Rafael Cruz is no longer capable of winning, and will hold on with hopes of a contested convention, in contravention to his previous premise that others should withdraw from the race as they have no mathematical probability of winning, and should consolidate the party to beat the Hildabeast.
While I read with whimsy his opinions, and listen to Trumps businessman answer, and personal opinion, they never the less do not necessarily align with my personal opinion.
So I will continue to comment, and be part of the discussion. Is that alright with you?

Why would you leave your little girls in the bathroom alone with any stranger Ted? My kids never went into the public bathroom alone. Unlike Cruz, I am worried more about same-sex perverts then someone who rejects the sex they were born with.

If I understood Cruz, I have to disagree with something he said. I have an issue with men in the ladies’ restroom for whatever reason, not just the obvious slippery-slope problems that will follow.
No man should want to use the ladies’ restroom .. PERIOD ... and if he’s insisting ... that is a problem and should not be okay with anyone .. Especially conservatives.

You are correct I can’t imagine how I would know whether a transgender was in the next CLOSED STALL if they were dressed and made up like a female? It is not my practice to peer through the cracks to check out the person in the stall.
I wondering how a female could use a urinal in a male restroom. That sounds like a Monty Python trick.
I do think transgenders have no place in a dressing room/shower intended for females. But the question is in regard to bathrooms.
Terrible things have have befallen unattended children even with the appropriate gender in the restroom. And again no responsible adult should let any child boy or girl to go unaccompanied into a public restroom.

Instead of securing our borders and getting rid of the terrorists, Cruz wants to guard the lady’s room.....
