A Charlotte waitress says she was infuriated and hurt when a group of ladies left a message for her on their bill taking aim at her sexual orientation.
Alexandra Judd works at Zada Janes in Charlottes Plaza Midwood. She says a group of patrons she served for lunch Tuesday morning left her a hateful message in lieu of a tip.
A Bible verse was left on the tip pointing Judd to Leviticus 20:13.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, the King James version of the Old Testament verse reads. They shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Judd is gay.
The bottom of the receipt had a message for her as well: Praying for you!
I never expected a hateful gesture like this, Judd said of the comments. Ive had a guest leave me a pamphlet to their church as a tip one time, but I didnt feel as if they were being hateful towards me. The ladies that came in were very rude, and would hardly talk to me but I never expected this.
She says she was infuriated and hurt by what she saw.
Ive heard of people leaving fake money, or writing funny stuff in the tip spot of a check but never believed it would happen to me, in the way that it did, she said. Judd posted a picture of the receipt on her Facebook page. Her co-workers and friends have shared the post and shared their shock and anger in the comments.
According to Judd, shes lived in North Carolina nearly a year after moving from a small town in Alabama.
She has taken part in a few rallies for equality since she has moved to Charlotte, including Wednesday nights rally in uptown Charlotte against North Carolinas House Bill 2.
I dont care what anyone says, this is the most disrespectful thing you can do, she wrote about the incident on Facebook. Dont pray for me darling, I have everything I could possibly want and need in my life.
Probably another hoax.
which is worth much more than a tip
Are they going for an even twelve?
*she was infuriated and hurt*
Nothing worse. Somebody needs to go to an indoctrination camp.
If so (and I agree, that’s my assumption going in), then it was via an otherwise blank receipt - the handwriting seems to match all around.
Hoax.
That’s more than what hitlary left.
The 23.00 on the total line and the Bible verse looks to be in different pen. One looks like a gel pen and the other looks like ball point.
They said they would PRAY FOR HER????
HOW HATEFUL!
#12 is probably those “rainbow nooses” that frightened the snowflakes on some campus the other day, and were revealed yesterday to have been an art project.
The $23.00 total, the “praying for you” and the not completely redacted signature look like the same handwriting. The “lev 20:13” looks like different handwriting.
They have the 12. Mathew Shepard.
Now, just HOW did the patron discern her orientation, eh? Perhaps the establishment should ask whether it is appropriate for their servers of any orientation to flaunt their sexuality at work?
Gratuities are supposed to be earned by exhibiting good service. I sincerely doubt there was any gratuity earning included in the waitress' service.
Looks like a hoax.
Different handwriting and numbers.
So the waitress just happens to be a gay activist, and the mean old Christians wrote a Bible verse on the receipt, and said they were praying for her?
I’m surprised the waitress didn’t report that they laid in wait for her to get off work, and threw Bibles at her.
Sounds like another mentally ill gay person, creating a scenario where they are the oppressed victim. I’m sure she received lots of sympathy at her local “safe space”.
Waitress? Shouldn’t that be waitperson?
why does the writing look different for that bible verse?
Almost definitely another hoax.
Who would use their credit card then write something like that?
