Southern Mom destroys kids' iPhones because of their disrespect and disobedience. . . with a gun and a hammer. She is irate! Video on the website. On the other hand, this may be the means by which the FBI unlocked that iPhone 5C. I'll tell you one thing when this Momma got done with it, it was opened! PING!

The camera then shows her three children, one of whom flips a double bird Mother gives speech about how she is stopping them from 'contacting people they don't know' and getting into 'drama' and trouble at school Well I guess she is not opposed to drama at home.
Like the article says she could have just taken the phones away from the kids. She could have wiped the phones and sold them on eBay.
And she is not opposed entirely to social media because she put the video on line.
Shaming has its place but I dont think doing it on the internet is a good idea. That video is out there and it is never going away.

And John Wayne could have just turned off that TV instead of shoot f it when Ted Kenedy's mig came on screen. Some things just need killing.

Agreed - A poor spokesperson for the 2nd Amendment. When people who are fence sitters on gun rights, or those who really have no opinion, it reinforces all the negative stereotypes of gun owners as people with little self control, and who resort to firearms as the solution to all their problems.
I spend an inordinate amount of my time taking non-shooters to the range, investing probably thousands of $$ in ammo, introducing people to the shooting sports and trying to give non-shooters a positive impression of shooters as disciplined, responsible and safety oriented. This kind of jack-assery can undo a lot of that good will very quickly when a video like this is viewed by somebody who might be thinking about joining the firearm owning, shooting community or even just supporting it morally and politically but isn't quite there yet.

Funny you should say that. My daughter-in-law's daughter (my granddaughter) got caught sexting with men online. My daughter-in-law took the phone away, told her it was a privilege and that she will never have a cell phone again until she pays for it herself but not on her (DIA) dime and ran it over with her car. She had to explain to explain that these "teenagers" she was chatting with were probably pedophiles and that she could end up in a ditch or sold as a sex slave. It embarrassed the hell out of her daughter but it's better than seeing her end up in a gutter somewhere. Yeah we know she will try to pull some other shenanigans but at least the easiest method of getting into trouble has been removed.

Kudos to your DIL.
Tough love, but very necessary.
Hopefully, a lesson learned.
