Funny you should say that. My daughter-in-law's daughter (my granddaughter) got caught sexting with men online. My daughter-in-law took the phone away, told her it was a privilege and that she will never have a cell phone again until she pays for it herself but not on her (DIA) dime and ran it over with her car. She had to explain to explain that these "teenagers" she was chatting with were probably pedophiles and that she could end up in a ditch or sold as a sex slave. It embarrassed the hell out of her daughter but it's better than seeing her end up in a gutter somewhere. Yeah we know she will try to pull some other shenanigans but at least the easiest method of getting into trouble has been removed.
Kudos to your DIL.
Tough love, but very necessary.
Hopefully, a lesson learned.
Sounds like your son married wisely.
I’ve skimmed through the comments here, and noticed some FReepers say she was stupid not to sell the phones over the Internet. The same Internet she’s trying to take away from her disobedient disrespectful children.
Are my husband and I the only ones who cheered when Maureen O’Hara helped John Wayne throw the money in the fire in The Quiet Man? Sometimes, it really is the principle of the thing. There are some things you can’t put a price on.
Your DinL should have given those lectures long ago.
