Women who’ve had abortions also need lots of prayer.

And the President’s daughters shouldn’t be ‘punished with a baby’.

The question was asked based on if it became against the law to have an abortion. Punishment makes sense when one breaks the law. Kasich and Cruz are bought abd paid for.

“I do have exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother, but abortions shouldn’t be punished.”

The way he worded that sounds like he only wants to punish women who get abortions in cases of rape, incest or where the life of the mother is threatened...

Can I ask a stupid question?

When abortion was illegal, who was punished for committing the crime? If Roe vs Wade were overturned, wouldn’t all of those old abortion laws come back on the books? What was the penalty in the old days? Why does nobody in the media ask this simple question as to who was punished in the past, when illegal abortions happened? Were women out in jail in the last for illegal abortions???

Women who've had abortions need help. Serious mental help.

What they need is ethics training early in life. And maybe a dose of actions having consequences for other things before they find themselves pregnant and "victims" of their own decisions.

Kasich's answer is as bad as it gets. He was asked how do you enforce the ban on abortions if there aren't consequences? He answered with the exemptions to an abortion ban, so I guess he was implying that the woman could say she was a victim of rape or incest or that she faces risk of suicide or whatever

And I don't mean "she'll suffer for the rest of her life" nonsense. The baby she allowed to be killed doesn't even get the chance to "suffer".

It amazes me that rule of law conservatives crumple like a cheap suit when this question comes up. The underlying argument of the “no punishment” argument is that breaking laws should have no consequence.

I agree that some women who have abortions have been victimized. However, an equally compelling argument can be made that many illegal aliens are victims. Is there really anybody on this forum who thinks that illegal aliens should face no consequences for breaking our immigration laws?

While I understand that Trump walked into a buzz saw politically, do we really believe that he took an immoral position by speculating that if abortion were illegal that breaking the law should have some consequence? Or do we want to hypocritically take that position merely to gather votes?

If guns are outlawed by Congress, what do you think liberals would say regarding whether gun owners should be punished for not giving them up (defying the law)?

So, all 3 candidates think the same on it. Although one particular candidate might change his mind back & forth 237 times before November.

If abortions shouldn’t be punished, then neither should refusing to pay child support.

Abortion is usually it’s own punishment, ask the pro-life people at an abortion protest who had one and deeply regretted it later.

From what i can tell only the sociopath women are the ones who have an abortion and no regrets or remorse. Either sociopath ones or the deeply under educated ones.

In my opinion very well intentioned religious people who pushed all or nothing in this argument back then caused this level of problem and we got lots of abortions in the millions due to it.

Back in the day it was doable to go to the American people and have 99.9% of abortions never happen. Properly framed it should have been argued NO ABORTIONS, except for rape with a police report or incest with a police report or the real physical death risk to the mother with a doctor's report. Instead hard headed people went for NO reason ever for an abortion and with that argument got many millions killed instead IMO.

Same argument should be going on with pot. We should say it is legal for ONLY extreme chronic or terminal cases with a full doctor's report and not to everyone with a note whose origin was by a doctor advocated in some porn magazine.

I would like to see no abortions and I think all life is precious, but we can't justify that IMO to a girl or woman raped.
I also see the pot issue as equally corrupting to future generations as abortion has been.

Abortion and pot both destroy the prior successful culture that formed the USA.

sooo if i get the argument, abortion should be ended, which means banned, yet there should be no penalty for those who ignore the ban...?

if no penalty for ignoring the ban, then why bother?
