Old news, sorta....>snip<
...Now, as Carson overtakes Trump as the GOP front-runner, it appears Trump is getting help from a media outlet known for ending presidential candidacies: the National Enquirer. Earlier this month, the Enquirer published a cover story on Carson headlined Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patients Brain! The article called Carson a White House wannabe and claimed he brandished a scalpel like a meat cleaver! It went on to quote angry former patients saying he botched surgeries that left them disfigured and in pain; one patient who sued Carson said he forgot to remove a surgical sponge from her brain after a procedure. His presidential campaign should be dead on arrival! Enquirer reporter Sharon Churcher wrote.
Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. Theyre very close, said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. Hed make it exciting and win awards!
This person also said that Trumps campaign was a source for the article: His campaign provided information that was used, he explained. A Trump friend said that in the days leading up to the articles publication Trump was telling people that Carson had a lot of medical malpractice suits and almost killed a guy.

I saw how Reagan worked and voted for the man and love him still. He utilized talents that NO other politician had. That does not demean him in the slightest. His life prepared him to take on the presidency which he did in another period of collapsed leadership.
But how much of his ideology was so important to the voters that they would have voted for him only because they agreed with it is not that great. American voters do not vote for ideologues. They wanted a LEADER with a VISION and that was Reagan. THAT is why they voted for RR. Not one in a hundred would have said “I understand Supply Side theory and will vote for Ronnie because of it.” Maybe one in a thousand would still be too high.
Typically the media destroys Republicans by whipping up FEAR in the voters portraying them as wild men, Rednecks, Crackers, just plain evil. It could not do that to Reagan because he was already established as almost a member of the family and highly media-saavy.
Nor was the contrast between the parties as great as today since the Democrat Party still had some patriots within it and had not yet been taken over by the Screwball Left.
Regarding the slide into perdition this nation is currently experiencing only a candidates ideology matters. I hope everyone who cares enough about the state of the nation to frequent this forum can agree on this much, although I'm afraid there are some who don't.
I had absolutely NO idea that all y'all in Texas could vote 6 yeqrs early!
He had a chance to support the First amendment but preferred to blame Trump and his followers (implicitly) for having their constitutional rights abrogated by the neo-Brownshirts.
He could have come out of it smelling like a rose rather than stinking like dog crap, Rubio and Kasich.
His statement attempted some sort of MORAL equivalence. “Well they really shouldn’t have beaten people but Donald’s attitude/statements/atmosphere provoked them.” TOTALLY pathetic and inexcusable.
Had he not done that he probably would have won Missouri and his campaign not on its last legs.
The longer this lasts without resolution, the more the Trump- Pecker connection will get scrutiny.
“...Ted Cruzs good buddy, Amanda Carpenters tweets...”
Was she the source of the original tweet? I always thought the main fault in that imbroglio was Carson’s camp being unclear and Cruz’s being dumb.
But if one of Cruz’s alleged “mistresses” was the source, this takes on a much more sinister tone.
“Cruz is irrelevant at this stage, and Trump is rightfully regarding him as such.”
You could not be more correct.
Why can't so many Trump supporters see that the actions of supporters of a candidate are the ones set by the demeanor of the candidate, which was the second part of the discussion, or do you prefer the boost that raw hatred, (founded or not) gives you? Is that the new 'high' in America?
It's self-consuming, FRiend, if those who disagree with you are living in your head rent-free.
I think the poster was trying to say he hoped to correct his mistake of voting for Cruz
in 2012 when the 2018 Cruz Senate seat election is held in 2018. You may asked him what
he meant but was my assessemt.
Breitbart had the story so did others for months. Trump doesn’t even need this against a moribund campaign, why bother?
What about NR, The Washington Post, NYT, LA Times, Weekly Standard, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum, besides ALL the networks and their onesided slander against Trump?. EVERY one has tried to slaughter Trump and nobody says a word.
The fact that the guys name makes it easier to express vulgarity does not make a vulgar slam not a vulgar slam.
I never implied that Reagan was just a pretty face and forgot to make that clear.
At this moment in history those who recognize that we are in a war with the left and Islam are on my side, those that do not are in the enemy camp.
Any patriot is my ally. I have no hope that those who share my ideology would get elected. A Nationalist, Populist and Patriot is all that can be hoped for until the entire educational system is transformed and the Democratmedia reduced to mere noise.
Most of that was just bombastic nonsense.
What I wanted was a clear and unambiguous condemnation of the riot which besmirched the political campaign, not some mealy-mouthed moral equivalency. It isn’t hard to understand.
Apparently you share Cruz’s view that all that was Trump’s fault rather than being the INEVITABLE result of the war declared on the American People daring to rise up against their masters. And you pretend you support the constitution.
Do you not believe that when your constitutional rights are attacked you should fight back? Did Cruz ever express any sympathy for Trump’s followers being deprive of their rights?
Your boy blew it BIG time and it cost him significant support, as it should have. And his followers here have been reduced to fanaticism and sheer lunacy in defending this guy.
Trump is the only one being attacked on almost a daily basis. WHY?
Cruz is too busy piling on.
That’s fine. There is nothing there.
My guess is the Stop Trump movement would want to prop up Cruz and would keep a lid on this as much as possible.
I share Cruz's view that the responsibility for the actions of the protesters lies with the protesters.
That is simple enough English, and puts the responsibility for the actions on the actors.
Would you rather blame someone other than the people who did it?
Would you convict Cruz of something he clearly did not do and continue to slander him?
If so, you have a lot of damned gall trying to lecture me about the Constitution.
After Cruz said that (different topic, and I know that is complicated for Trump supporters, but try to keep up) Cruz said the actions of a candidate set the tone of the candidate's campaign. Violent or coarse rhetoric led to violent or coarse behaviour by the candidate's supporters. (Which is true, as evidenced by supporters punching out protesters in rallies instead of simply having security remove them.)
Cruz did not say Trump was responsible for the actions of the Soros-paid demonstrators, the Communists in the streets, NOR did Cruz "join" them in any fashion.
He was calling for dialing the rhetoric back to something more presidential in demeanor.
You can continue to lie about that , it's your option, but it is your credibility going down in flames, not mine.
Nobody says a word because they either agree with the opinions and information presented, or they are busy on twitter and facebook slandering Cruz.
Judge for yourself. Here’s the tweet. Note the date and time. According to Breitbart, the story “broke” on CNN (Chris Moody) around 6:45pm ET. https://twitter.com/amandacarpenter/status/694320944689483776
That would be an erroneous assumption. NE endorsed Trump and trashed those competitive with him. Now this is not proof that Trump had anything to do with the timing of this particular hit piece. But it sure the hell is not exculpatory.
