I have been through several of the Free Republic "Silly Seasons", aka, the Republican presidential primaries. Every one of them is rough, but this is the worst one of all.
I'm guilty of being a dog, but even this dog can learn new tricks. Here is my proposal:
LET NO ONE SPEAK ILL OF ANYONE ELSES CANDIDATE. ONLY POST POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT *YOUR* CANDIDATE.
I think that would just about eliminate the rancor.
We won't get 100% participation. But heck, if we got even a fraction of that, Free Republic would be a lot nicer a place, in this, the worst of all "Silly Seasons".
I pledge to do this. Who else is on board? Chime in!

Luv ya Laz. Think you're a great guy but think you're floggin a dead horse here.
I remember about a year ago Ted Cruz and Mike Lee were heroes because they took to the Senate floor and filibustered against Obamacare. They were HERO'S!
Now people are stabbin Ted in the back left and right for the most piddlin reasons. I'm a Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump man and it irritates me no end the way they talk about cruz like he's evil.

If a candidate says or does something I disagree with, I reserve the right to speak my mind.
I will however refrain from ad hominem attacks since I find them rude, immature and they don't add anything of value to the issues at hand, neither for or against.
