Question to Cruz Supporters (Vanity)
self | 3/11/16 | tatown

An honest question to all Cruz supporters that try to describe Trump as a democrat/liberal. If you believe that Trump really is a democrat, and Cruz can't beat him in the GOP primaries, how in the heck do you expect him to win in the general against a real democrat?

Oh, my. Can’t have a little John McClane humor on FR. I can imagine that the piece is not being permitted because of the volatile response.

Always amazes me that people are actually refusing to listen to conservatives that have been respected for decades but will follow a pathological liar the moment he acts out on a debate stage.

I do have to admit I gave him a chance, too, until I did my own research. That high feeling of wow can this be real-should have been my first hint that it was like a crush and totally baseless.

Totally right, HusbandMan.

I was right here on Free Republic and saw the Purity Parade who refused to vote for Romney.

I begged and pleaded that they were voting for Obama but they stuck their fingers firmly in their ears and claimed they were standing for their ‘principles.’

And so we got Obama for four more years.

The exact same thing will happen if Trump is nominated.

If we didn’t have a better candidate, it wouldn’t be so insane.

We have the closest thing to a perfect candidate we could possibly have and people want the Drumpf.

Kasich is just kinda nutty.

I’m beginning to suspect something scary and shady about Rubio.

What has Trump offered him? A Trump/Rubio ticket.

How will the trumpers react?

It will be interesting to see.

Months of making fun of Rubio and then, suddenly, he’s a wonderful, wonderful guy.

I don’t believe you were ever on board with Cruz.

Find an old post from back when you were and send it.

Your only real argument (besides the Harvard idiocy) is this TPP thing.

Ted was not only in a position, he did know more about and made a good decision. I have read up on it.

You may think you know more about legislation than Ted Cruz but you don’t. And neither do your little posse of trumpers.

Ted Cruz does not need excusing.

Trump is an opportunist saying whatever it takes to use easily-fooled Conservatives (who keep getting people elected only to get stabbed again and again) to possibly gain the most powerful seat on earth.

And the delicious irony is he's using the "I'm one of the people who has bought and sold politicians" to sell the argument.

“I don’t believe you were ever on board with Cruz.”

Well, I voted for Ted in the primary, the run-off, and the general election, when he ran for the Senate.

When he announced for President, I began posting my support for him on FR, and donated to his campaign four times. Still have the bumper stickers.

I’m not going to go digging out old posts from last year to prove that to you. Feel free to dig it out yourself, if you think I’m dumb enough to lie about something like that. Go on. I dare you.

in my local voting precincts (2 of them in one location) I saw the largest turnout in over 30 years...

I listened to the people as they stood in line..

we are a democrat ridden area..

most if not all the people were stating that they were going to switch to republican to elect trump..

but not a one of them were going to vote for him..

why????

Hillary and trump are the same and identical..

trump backed Hillary..

trump supported fubocare..

trump backs subsidies..

TRUMP IS A SOCIALIST..... PERIOD..

big business thrives in a socialist environment..

the losers are small businesses and people..

check his record over the past 15 years...

I'll take that as a concession.

I supported Cruz until he gave me reasons to withdraw that support. Plain and simple.

He should be out polling his competition against The Felon and he’s not. You’re not worried but I am.

Oh, I'm not worried at all.

She's a horrible candidate, as bad as Jeb, and even a lot of democrats know it. So bad she can't put away a 74 year old milquetoast socialist Senator.

Not telegenic.
Sounds like paint drying when she speaks normally.
Sounds like the Wicked Witch of the West when she raises her voice.
Her own base hates her.
The remainder thinks she's corrupt.
She has no natural constituency, not even women.
Benghazi.
Clinton slush fund foundation.
Abject failure as Sec State.
More baggage than could fit on three air force ones.

All that against a candidate that will point those things out every hour of every day, something that has not been done to them ever. Unlike the other candidates, Trump will come out swinging. No fear of taking them on like the others have. Look what happened when she tried to hit him in January, it was epic. It's a landslide waiting to happen, they won't know what hit them.

She's a Cruzer, hardly worth trying to debate with.

Good for insults only. She's not interested in discussion.

If she was simply a Cruz supporter, that might be different.

You do know that the majority of the Not-Cruz vote is far greater than the majority of the Not-Trump vote. Yes?

Ahhh. I see. A "teacher."

Just who said Trump would "have 48 states sewn up by now"?

I had heard that he would "flame out" long before now. You wouldn't just be pushing a pile of BS would you? Like, say... a teacher? Save it for the kidiots, teach.

Primaries versus general... Big difference

What would be the difference?

He started at below 5% in the primaries.

In the general he will start with a floor between 42 and 45%.

If you read my post, perhaps you can explain how Hillary does anything but fall flat on her face.

She's every bit as bad a candidate as Jeb, she just doesn't have anyone to take her out in the democrat nomination like last time(except maybe an indictment). And this time she's eight years older, eight years uglier, eight years more shrill, and hated by her base even more.

The only “wow” I associate with Trump is shamwow. But if it came to Trump v Clinton I’d hold my nose (and all other orifices) and vote for the carnival barker.

Are you referring to the "low information" voter comment?

"The Hill reports that “Cruz: Trump supporters are ‘low-information’ voters”:

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz says rival Donald Trump’s supporters are less informed than his own.

“Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry, and they see him as an angry voice,” Cruz told The Brody File on Wednesday.

“Where we are beating him is when voters get more engaged and they get more informed.”

Cruz also called Trump out for saying earlier this month that he loved the “poorly educated” while touting his appeal among a wide variety of voters.

The Texas senator said he understands people vote for Trump because they are angry with the “corruption of Washington.”

“If you’re angry at the corruption of Washington, you don’t solve it by supporting someone who has been enmeshed in the Washington corruption for 40 years,” he said.

When voters are more informed, Cruz continued, they learn about Trump’s record and conclude that Cruz is the only candidate in a position to “stand up to Washington.”

“He’s what they’re angry at. He is the corruption, and if you want someone to stand up to Washington, the only one who has been doing so in this race is me,” he said.

I saw a video of Cruz explaining his position on ethanol to a corn farmer. I didn't know anything about what was going on until he explained it. He wants to level the playing field for all producers of our natural energy resources, including oil, gas, wind, solar, and ethanol. Check it out, it's not long. Scroll down past the first 2 images and then to the third video.

My son, a former Marine and now a blue collar worker, married into a wealthy white collar family and I had to assure him (they hated him) that he was worthy of anyone who loved him as much as his wife. Now he has a great big extended southern family. He's really very smart, just mechanically. His dad comes from a family of farmers and "HillWilliams" as my mom used to say. My grandpa built the skyscrapers of NYC. I was born in the bronx, but am country through and through. Must be my Hungarian/Brit genes.

“These same poll sources continuously overestimate Trump in the primaries.”

That doesn’t make me think they’re telling the truth anywhere else.
