You must not have read Donald’s books, watched his shows and how he mentored diverse people, or even paid attention to what he says and why.

The guy thrives on challenges and new ideas.. He is always working, always digging ... One of the things principled conservatives dislike about Trump is exactly that he IS open to new ideas., which they find frightening ... . He may even work with the democrats instead of taking a principled oppositional stance, as Cruz promises to do ( and we see how much Cruz has actually accomplished in 4 years by standing on his own)

Thus on some issues, we see and hear Trumo changing or equivocating based on getting more information - and he is attacked for this dynamism

Face it Trump is a CEO but has never held government office and he has no idea of the state of the world until he starts getting classified briefings. It is going to change him when he recognizes the story behind the story as in 9-11 and what is going on now. Assuming he can receive non politicized intelligence if such a thing exists anymore in our rotten agencies

One of his great strengths is going to be the ability to choose the best of the best as advisors and then challenge them to come up with ideas he can adopt. Thus far we haven’t seen him focus on military advisors. Some of the regular suspects like former CIA/NSA Hayden are turning out to be just as corruptly politicized as any entrenched special interest group. Most of the other generals seem to be keeping their mouths shut and their powder dry - as they should

If “never Trump”, then who? Seriously?

Cruz!

He was a conservative before he was elected Senator. He has remained a conservative while in DC. He is knowledgeable about who would be good to nominate to judgeships. He is familiar with all the waste and bureaucracy of DC. He is driven by the principals of individual sovereignty, with rights given by GOD not govt., limited govt in all aspects of our lives, believes in the sanctity of life and supports the 2nd Amendment.

Trump is a "johnny come lately" to conservatism. He supports big govt. He supports govt control over the individual. He is crass and bombastic. He has no details to what he proposes. He is a life long NY values guy. His supporters are more disaffected Rats than Pubs, who don't seem to care about the core principals of Republicanism as long as they can get power.

I don't see Trump as a legitimate alternative to intrusive big govt Rat policies. I see him as a promoter of the very same things.

Let’s hope Trump helps usher the Romney dynasty off the stage the way he did with this generation of Bushes. And then the Clintons

The Bush- Clinton- Bush franchise has controlled the U.S. presidency for 36 years in modern times, while Rimney has been the perpetual milk toast wannabe taking more than his fair share of time trying to buy his way into the family

! Good lord ..... imagine waking up and having them all gone....

The Planned Parenthood thing is the one thing causing me to debate whether to toss my primary vote to Trump over Cruz. He’ll definitely get my vote in the general, though.

I understand The Onion is buying National Review and merging the two staffs, since they both have similar writing ethics.

I am pro-life. I have never used the social issue of abortion as a litmus test for the office of the President. I do however, believe that a President who held a pro 10th amendment stance would be highly beneficial.

Our tax dollars should never be used to provide abortions under any circumstance. Further to this, even though abortion is legal, we need to rid the government of the idea that legal does not mean acceptable - it does not mean we must provide them.

Regulation of, or allowing providers for abortion should be a State issue only, let the women who would kill their children move to States where it is allowed.

Same way with homosexual marriage. Legality is not the issue - States rights are.

After all, smoking is a legal activity, does the government force people to smoke or force businesses to provide a place to smoke? It is in fact, just the opposite as you all well know.

A president who took an active role in promoting the 10th Amendment would be ideal.

Many have attempted to understand the Trump phenomena, and this article states precisely what I have witnessed here on FR.

Too many people act as if we’re electing a symbolic middle finger rather than a commander-in-chief.

The article also state a significant point of demarcation in the conservative movement:

...the true battle for our country isn’t political, it’s cultural and spiritual. Again the decorum on this forum is evidence of the divide.

I still want Cruz, but #NeverTrump would give us Hillary … just like not voting for Mittens gave us 4 more years of Obama. Hillary would stack the Supreme Court with more liberals. Stacking the Supreme Court with liberals would take away many of our God given rights. Taking away any of our God given rights would kill this republic.

This “Never Trump” meme is the behavior of petulant children looking to spite everyone because their desires were not granted. It has nothing at all to do with anything resembling principals or reason.

"Yesterday, the other day,"... whatever.

All I commented was you are another Fanboy.

Btw, I like how you Fanboys act nonchalant (like that frenchie?):
“Weren't you the one who posted the other day... “
“Weren't you the one who posted five years ago...” LOL!

You already indicated that you follow my posts so drop the idiot routine.

I hope you at least notice I never give a crap what you post, Fanboy.

Among non-establishment republicans, I agree. But for the positively traitorous establishment, there is no end to the venom they earned.
