Let me begin by saying that I was wrong. Weeks ago I said on a number of radio interviews that while I opposed Trump in the primary, Id back him if he won the GOP nomination. I hadnt yet seen or had been unwilling to believe the full extent of his contempt for the truth, his fondness for far-left conspiracy theories, and his sheer malice. When I saw Trump in full, my decision was easy: Never Trump.

Last night, even in his alleged uniter mode, Trump went out of his way to once again praise the nations largest abortionist the killer of millions of children and call his critics so-called conservatives.
That is rich from someone who with his wife created a group called "Evangelicals for Romney". Romney until he decided to run for POTUS was Pro-Abortion and Pro-Planned Parenthood. Mrs. Romney gave money to Planned Parenthood.
Trump is directly over the target now, so the flak is lighting up the sky.
Why we DIDN’T change our mind and maintain our opinion of NRO as a collection of toadies.
NRO is TDS central.
Ronald Reagan has words for Mr French ans his ilk.
A man who is 75-80% on my side is a valued Friend and Ally, not my enemy.
Curious Mr French
What in the last 40 years have any GOP President done to stop the ever increasing number of Abortions?
I know this falls on deaf ears at Team Cruz but the fact remains, We are a Constitutional Republic that rests on the notion that the peoples Representatives in Government know how to compromise and negotiate. Cruz record demonstrates a total inability to actually govern anything.
This notion that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.
Really think Clinton, Cult of Sanger and Abortion, is going to REDUCE the number of abortions or is she going to do things that will massively increase them?
This Never Trump meme is the behavior of petulant children looking to spite everyone because their desires were not granted. It has nothing at all to do with anything resembling principals or reason.
Well, he can vote for hillary or bernie. Or stay home(same thing)
Cause you work at National Review and that is now a requirement for employment there?
Article #274 or so in the last 5 days that says exactly the same thing.
“Oh my God! Trump changed his mind”
A NICE payoff from the hundreds of Millions of dollars already spent by the establishment, OR "an offer you couldn't refuse"?
National Review is the propaganda arm of the GOP.
“Right-wing media figures are criticizing the conservative magazine National Review after it released a comprehensive feature of conservatives blasting current GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump. The critics are claiming the magazine’s criticism is “intellectual snobbery,” that the magazine is “irrelevant,” that it has “lost touch with the electorate,” and that it is committing “suicide.”

Shortly after President Trump is sworn in, the National Review will close its doors and declare bankruptcy. History will note that that its formerly elites committed Macycide by lying and going after Trump and poing his supporters.
Then, the NR writers and formerly elite rulers end up on the DC streets with the other bums who made stupid life decisions.
They will become a footnote in history of how not to po your customer base.
#NeverTrump is just a rhetorical threat, i.e. “if I don’t get my way, I’m taking my ball and going home!”
But most of these screeching whiners will fall in line after Trump receives the nomination.
SOMEONE is going to become our next President.
Your choice WILL be some, probably two, of:
- Clinton
- Sanders
- Cruz
- Rubio
- Biden or another DEMe fall guy (extreme long shot)
- Romney or another GOPe fall guy (extreme long shot)
- Trump
If “never Trump”, then who? Seriously?
Like it or not, the conservative movement is, by definition, a movement of ideas being put into action. The problem with the Boehners and McConnells of the world is that there is only lip service on ideas, and there is no action. The problem with Trump is that there are no ideas and, in fact, he scoffs at ideas. Neither is acceptable, but I fear the latter more.
Great post. Keep posting it.
When NR closes its doors due to bankruptcy next year, you can have a full montague of their full blown TDS resulting from their self inflicted Macycide against Trump’s supporters!
Absolutely.
What we have seen is that the abortion issue now lies in the power of the states, and in the power of religious institutions, both to educate and inform.
Because abortion choice in the USA it is never going to come down to government saying a woman cannot abort. It can only come down to a woman deciding she cannot abort. And a government respecting religious freedoms to not pay for it.
I keep hearing people talk about “conservative principals” and they are opposed to Trump because he doesn’t have the same “conservative principals”.
What exactly are “conservative principals”? I know that there are those who still talk about defending the 2nd amendment, ending abortion, rolling back gay marriage, and even a few talk about controlling the border, except for the 2nd amendment, all the others are just so much talk.
The only “conservative principals” that I see energizing and galvanizing the so-called “conservative movement” is open borders and endless wars fought in the Middle East that have absolutely no benefit to us, unless we count thousands of dead and maimed men as a benefit.
When you look at those who are so rabidly opposed to Trump it is mainly the open borders, and endless wars crowd. Sure, there are those who oppose him on the other stuff, but the driving force behind the organized, and heavily financed opposition is the open borders and endless wars crowd.
Here it comes ... another day, another posting of a worthless NR article trashing Trump. Those fools (the posters and authors) just don’t seem to understand that this will not convince us to vote for Elmer Gantry.
