Then Trump should say "kiss my a$$, I'm not releasing them", not lie about why he can't.
Secondly, my CPA would say "tell them when hell freezes over". No candidate is required to release any tax form. Not a single one.
What is required is the disclosure form. They all submitted them before the first debate as required. Ted was the ONLY one who had to amend his.
Yup. Disappointed he didn’t say KMA! That would be his normal style. Guess he’s learning how to be a politician. And that’s a bad sign.
On the other hand, it is comical watching Rubio and Cruz falling all over themselves to meet the liberal media’s demands to publish their tax returns. Squishes.
Though, it looks like Cruz is holding back on his latest. There could still be hope for him.
Absolutely. Any CPA worth his salt would tell them to shove it regarding tax returns.
Is this a requirement?
If Cruz had only not stepped on his own thingy with certain remarks and had a better campaign manager, THE one true anti-GOPe highly rated conservative would have taken the Oval Office over all others.
As for Rubio, while he's young and now more energetic, his stance on illegals is what's killing him.
I'll vote for Trump if only for his wisdom to appoint capable people. Newt for Chief of Staff! Sessions for VP, providing he changes his mind. John Bolton for Secretary of State. Allen West for Defense Secretary. Cruz for Attorney General or DHS Secretary. The rest of the cabinet can go away or be reduced in scope and funding, including countless bureaus and redundant agencies:
Official US Executive Branch
And no, I don't care about the thousands of public employees out of jobs. Let them get off their fat asses and find real work. Unless the Department of HHS is abolished (unlikely) they can get their welfare for a limited time, according to new restrictions.
I am not worried. But there is no reason for Trump to jump and do the bidding of the two Cubans just because they order him to do something.
Aw jeez (you know the rest).
Cruz and Rubio released PARTIAL tax returns.
Specifically, they only released the 1040 forms, and withheld all of the supporting forms, schedules, and statements that make up a complete return.
What are Cruz and Rubio hiding?
Nope.
I am not a Trump supporter; in fact, there is no way I can pull the lever for him. Just can’t do it. I don’t believe a word the guy says. When he talks out of both sides of his mouth, everyone assumes he is lying to the other side and telling them the truth. Obvious trolls aside (you know... the people who somehow show up for every single negative topic on Trump by like the seventh post, and spout liberal defenses for whatever he said), I am perplexed how actual thinking conservatives are buying what the man is selling. But the fact is, there are many of them. Many bona fide conservatives on freerepublic whom I respect are supporting the guy, and they have the numbers. It disappoints me, but that’s where things are.
All that said, I think this tax issue is bull. Yes, he is lying through his teeth about the supposed audits (pretty sure if you get audited every year, that means you completed an audit last year and it is settled, so you can at least release that year if you want). I am fairly sure he simply doesn’t want to show his real finances because something may cast him in a negative light. You know what though? I am inclined to believe the true conservative position is that he shouldn’t have to.
He is a private citizen. That used to mean that he was entitled to privacy on a given subject unless he broke the law regarding that subject. Rather than presenting a strangely fluid and vague argument (well, not so strange now that I think about it, given that all his positions are fluid and vague) about audits, he should really just say the following:
“I am a private citizen and my tax returns are none of your business. I am glad the career politicians in the race released their records, because as public servants, they owe a certain transparency to us, the taxpayers. More generally, I support all politicians releasing their tax information, so we can make sure they aren’t getting benefits from lobbyists, etc., and that they aren’t being hypocrites like the democrats who say they should be taxed higher but do everything they can to avoid taxes.
But I am a private citizen who has never been on the payroll of the taxpayer, and as such, they have no business seeing my finances, as I have no business seeing theirs. This is still America, right?
When I become president, I’ll release records for the years I am in office. Until then, go pound sand.”
I am a conservative. I don’t think Trump is, but I am not going to use an unconservative argument against him because it scores points in a debate. I desire to be consistent. That said, perhaps I am not seeing something Can someone give me a conservative reason why I should be entitled to seeing his records?
I wonder if perhaps Trump is hiding donations to Planned Parenthood.
Rubio and Cruz aren’t releasing their tax returns either. They don’t even have an audit as an excuse. Why doesn’t that get you as riled up as you are at Trump?
You're right. From what I've read, they released "summaries" of their tax returns, not the whole returns.
They didn't, however, lie about not being allowed to release them.
The “summaries” are simply the 1040 forms by themselves.
Trump didn’t lie, he stated what his lawyers told him.
If you’ve got a beef, it’s with lawyers and CPA’s who advise their clients, Trump.
It Doesn't Matter!
We Don't Care!
It's Just Good Business!
That about covers any truth presented on Donald Trump.
Less than 1% to Charites
“”Obama told us he was born a British Subject.””
That jerk has said lots of loony things but that is not one of them.
