I've come to this site every day since Ted Cruz became a national political figure. Perhaps I'm just getting old with a failing memory but I can't recall any derogatory posts about Cruz until Donald Trump began his ad hominem attacks on him. I don't remember Freepers attacking him as he built a record in the senate.
Can someone direct me to the threads and posts by the Freepers who now hate Cruz that were made prior to September of last year?
This used to be a strong voice for conservatism. Now its largely irrelevant. It went from a small tent to a 3-ring circus. Need I say more?
Ted let him know essentially thanks but no thanks, I am running for president.
That is why Trump was so nice for so long, he was courting Cruz to be his VP.
And that is why we have been able to witness the classic Trump Meltdown on Cruz.
Trump tends to do that when he meets a roadblock that will not budge.
Frankly, I think it has already gotten old.
I still think at some point in time these two will bury the hatchet (in each other) and come together and win BIGLY! ( I know it’s a Trump word but I love it)
I will vote for any of the Republicans over hillary or sanders or a third party run by bloomberger.
Well, your premise is a false one. Few people on FR “hate” Teddy. Actually, you’ll find that several of us who oppose his candidacy now were actually early supporters. I was an early supporter of Teddy, and a donor but I no longer support him in any way, shape, or form. TPA was the slap in the face for me and the news has just gotten worse since then.
Conservatism matters. But so does honor, honesty, the ability to work with and get along with others, as well as the ability to dig deep and accomplish something positive. So Like many others, I moved on.
No one in their right mind and focused on saving the country is turning on Cruz...or Trump for that matter. Most of us realize that no one candidate will be 100% perfect. But, trolls do tend to goad some people, ‘tho.
Drinking the Trump Kool-Aid does strange things to the human mind.
Grow up already with the Carson Crap. He is non-competitive and always has been. Cruz is fighting for the future of our country. Not even bad form to retweet a news report that Carson did something stupid that could be interpreted as abandoning the campaign.
Birther craps is also BS.
Do you detractors even understand what Cruz accomplished before joining the Senate???? Dumkopff!
I believe the odds are overwhelming that America’s
“democracy” will again win with Mrs. Bill on Nov. 8. JFK won on a November 8 too, 56 years ago.
After gathering information on all the candidates It was obvious that Cruz background put him best as a supreme court justice. After his shenanigans in Iowa against Dr Ben, who I greatly admire as a man, I wouldn’t vote for Cruz for dog catcher.
I think the bitter attacks on the top three are ridiculous. But the hatred of Cruz by some illustrates Trump’s willingness and ability to attack anyone who stands in his way.
May that carry over into the general.
Also, he is not natural born. People can twist themselves like a pretzel to explain how he is really a natural born citizen but even the most rabid Cruz fans know better. Seriously, the founders didnt mean for natural born to be so damn flexible.
When it became convenient to equate winning with giving up on the values that brought us majorities in both houses, governors mansions and state representatives of the Republican mold or even, gosh, conservatives.
Trump winning? Yeah it feels good but, at the expense of actual conservatives and our values?
This is the other side of a Bob Dole candidacy, in that “we are at least winning”.
Really? Feels more like Trump is winning and not our agenda.
That said, I don’t mind everyone turning into asshats all of the sudden.../S ...Maybe.../S
I didn’t start out supporting Cruz. But now I am a Cruz supporter. I took my time, listened and watched. I am happy to have the privilege to vote for Ted Cruz.
Interestingly, I was turned off by the “Cruz or Lose” crowd. It was too pushy too early. I wanted to make up my own mind by watching and listening. Now it seems some of those pushy people may be Trump supporters. Weird.
I have never turned on Cruz. He will have my support and vote.
I was a staunch Trump/Cruz proponent. The sleazy, slimey stunts Cruz pulled in Iowa turned me off. Cruz cannot be trusted.

We haven’t. The Trumpets have.
Cruz is my favorite.
The only thing preventing me from voting for Cruz is his eligibility.
Trump is right that the dems will block him if he were to get the GOP nod.
Some of the things Cruz has said and done during the campaign has given me reason for concern.
Some of the things Trump has said scares the hell out of me.
Before it’s all over, I think this election cycle is in serious risk of imploding.
