Have other Freepers noticed a change in the taste of diet Mountain Dew? Yesterday, I bought some at my local 7-11 and noticed the change. It was so bad that I poured it out on the grass. I went to another 7-11 and bought a new diet Mountain Dew. This one was OK. This morning I opened a bottle that I bought at our local supermarket and again that same terrible bubblegum taste! Yuck!
So?...Does anyone have news on whether or not the formula has changed? If it has, then I am done with Mountain Dew. It is now too sweet and has lost its tangy zing.
I did a Google search but didn't find much.
Look into a medical reason, too. Taste-changes are warning signs.
ANOTHER reason to home school ... Oh, wait. ;-)
Ditto what Laz said.
Find a neurologist.
Its guaranteed cancer in a bottle , what difference does it make.
I see what you did there.
Knockoff mountain dew?
The Red Bull rep told me how to spot fake Red Bull a few years back. It’s not a problem where I live, but some places brand name food/beverage knockoffs are.
I think knockoff baby formulas are another big one, and can do real harm to infants.
I have maybe one Pepsi or RC a year and only at an outdoor BBQ and then only one. I am completely free of soda and television. Best thing Ive ever done. Love every second of it. Going on three happy years.
I refuse to drink stuff that looks like antifreeze or windex.
Sounds like a disgruntled employee with a bladder infection to me.
But...Why would a bottle from the supermarket taste different?
A little whiz goes a long way if you hit the right tank.
my father worked for 7 up for over 30 years. Based on what he told me and what I saw with my own eyes, I haven’t had a soft drink of any brand or flavor in over 40 years. It’s all poisoned, liquid candy.
Once in a blue moon, I’ve gotten a 12-pack box of soda pop in which it’s apparent some ingrediant/flavoring is missing. Like a bad batch that somehow got through. It’s happened to me with Mountain Dew a few years ago, and once with Hire’s Root Beer about a decade ago.
I find the Mountain Dew “throwback,” which utilizes sugar (like it used to, pre-1980 or so) is far preferable. Same with Dr. Pepper. I find the difference quite striking.
"...I refuse to drink stuff that looks like antifreeze or Windex..."
Look for the Mountain Dew made with sugar. The new Dewshine is also made with sugar.
Are you sure you didn’t get one of the flavored Mountain Dews?
Regular Mt Dew is my ‘coffee’ every morning.
I have noticed no change in the regular stuff.
Last Mountain Dew I had was back in the 60s.
