Former NFL player Bill Romanowski still hasn't learned to keep his mouth shut.
After Panthers quarterback Cam Newton aburptly walked out on his postgame press conference, Romanowski tweeted: "You will never last in the NFL with that attitude. The world doesn't revolve around you, boy!"
Romanowski's use of the word "boy" â a racially inflammatory term â was met with heavy criticism, including from some African-American athletes.
Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson tweeted at Romanowksi, "Boy? You never watched Good Times Bill?"

Former Bengals cornerback Rico Murray added, "Cam needs to bite the bullet and take what's coming. But @billromanowksi is a disgrace."

"Brat" or "child" would have done the trick, "son" would also have worked. As it stands, the only reason anyone is sticking up for him is this ridiculous alibi that Romanowski's racist. I enjoyed the SB, preferred to see the Old Guy be the winning QB, but had also no problem had it gone the other way, I'd enjoyed watching Cam play this year. As soon as that BS 15 yard taunting penalty was thrown, I turned against the Panthers, just like that -- it was obvious that Cam's whole game, which is based on taunting, wasn't any issue for the NFL, and the order had come down to throw the game toward the Panthers as much as humanly possible. Helmet-to-helmet collision? 15 yards. Taunting? Fifteen yards. Oh yeah, the NFL is REALLY REALLY WORRIED about concussions.
This is what people/media has a problem with, but not this?
Beyoncé Super Bowl Performance Pays Tribute to Black Panthers

And btw, Cam Newton did act Ike a 10 year-old boy when he lost. I didn’t much care who won going into the game, but Newton’s behavior made me extremely glad he lost.
As for the Beyoncé performance, it has me second thinking whether I’ll ever watch another Super Bowl, and I’ll be sure to skip the halftime show if I do.
and 3)never drink while posting
The trick is to not care. If people want to assume the worst, that’s their problem. If they’re disappointed when they learn that they were wrong then that’s just a damned shame, now ain’t it.
Well, social media ... did Newton act like a man or a boy last night?
Newton threw himself on the ground in a tantrum like a two year old.
Romanowski is a jackass, but don’t see how demeaning people of Polish heritage is different than what Bill said.
EIGHT YEAR OLD GIRL AT PRESS CONFERENCE
Nothing.
But what about someone who is 26 years old?
Hardly a boy.
ok.
so bill romanowski used the b- word in describing cam newton...
he could have used many words... he chose poorly.
cam newton behaved like a winner and couldn’t make it so. i guess anyone can buy a pair of shoes with MVP on it...
pride cometh before a fall, most men know this... immature men, boys, have to figure it out alot.
Boy (noun) 1. a male child or young man. Innocuous.
No, it was not. An immature human male is a boy. End of discussion.
An eight year old girl would have had more poise and grace
I haven’t seen a Super Bowl Halftime in forever. To busy doing other things during that 30 minute break to sit and watch has-beens or people I’ve never heard of. I always DVR the game and then go back scan back to see if there were any decent commercials that I missed in during that time.
After everything he’s done this season, I’m wondering if Newton has a severe mental problem.
Maybe he’s had more concussions then is widely known.
You are right, wrong choice of terminology — was intending to show people are from different places and not just “races.”
Should have said ‘Pole’ or nothing at all, reversion to childhood when that was the name everybody used (probably won’t be surprized I came from a nice — but not very cosmopolitan place)
Why? Newton acted like a boy instead of as man. Now Romanowski will end up groveling for using exactly the right word to describe Newton’s actions.
Not everyone is aware of politically correct, approved terms. Why we aren’t beyond referring to a black guy as boy is beyond me. Are there any off limits terms for whites? No. Call them anything and everything and that’s fine.
