It is obvious that no significant connection between microcephaly and the Zika virus has been found. It's not even close. So far, therefore, there is absolutely no reason to trumpet an epidemic of Zika. Doing so is quite insane, by any reasonable standard.
Here are the principal facts in the article (after which I'll comment):
* As of January 30, 2016, 4,783 suspected cases of microcephaly were reported in Brazil.
* Of those, 3,670 suspected cases of microcephaly, covering the entire country of Brazil, are being investigated.
* Of those 3,670, 404 cases have been confirmed as microcephaly or "other alterations in the central nervous system" of babies.
* Of those 404 cases, 17 "had a relationship with zika virus."
* 98% of the 404 microcephaly cases come from the Northeast area of Brazil, and in that area, Pernambuco has the highest number of cases: 56.

Round-up is not going to cause microcephaly. I wonder what the nutritional status of women in that area is. I wonder if they are all vaccinated for rubella (a known risk factor). I wonder if some of the genetic conditions associated with microcephaly are common in that area (which is more likely if a lot of inbreeding goes on there).
Until the cases are investigated and the causes are determined, it is, indeed, early to blame Zika for it.
Come on. How are they supposed to suck more billions out of the American taxpayer if you go telling the truth about this stuff?
This is all about pushing abortion. The UN population people are pressuring these Latin American countries to accept abortion, and today the are urging the to give abortions to any women who “think they may have been exposed to Zika.”

Thanks for the post. It’s well done.
There is no evidence at all that Zika has anything to do with birth defects.
This whole hype/hysteria is trumped up and weird.
Zika infection in itself is less harmful than a cold.
+1
I had to spend a couple hours on the road today and dialed in public radio briefly. Their newscast was pushing this phony scare.
