No, not a dirty trick, their belief. A valid belief that I believe as well. No doubt Ted Cruz is a U.S. citizen, however, if we were able to bring back the founding fathers I seriously doubt they would consider Cruz a “natural born” citizen. even back in their day, because of the fact that Cruz was born in Canada and not the U.S.

I have no doubt where Cruz’s allegiance lies, but as Trump has said, he needs to clear this question up.

At the time the Constitution was submitted for approval, in 1787 a “natural born Citizen” was an Englishman because the thirteen colonies were all English. There were other “naturalized Citizens” as well. There are no “natural born “Citizens” in the US of A today as specified in the 1787 US Constitution that was submitted to the thirteen Colonies for approval.

Wrong...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural-born-citizen_clause

The use of the phrase “natural born” was not without precedent. Statutes in England prior to American independence used the phrase “natural born subject”. For example, the British Foreign Protestants Naturalization Act 1708:[10][11]

The children of all natural born subjects born out of the ligeance [i.e. out of England] of Her Majesty Her Heirs and Successors shall be deemed and adjudged to be natural born subjects of this Kingdom to all intents, constructions, and purposes whatsoever.

Another example is the Plantation Act 1740:[12]

[A]ll persons born out of the legience of His Majesty, His Heirs, or Successors, who have . . . or shall inhabit or reside for . . . seven years or more in any of His Majesty’s colonies in America . . . shall be deemed, adjudged, and taken to be His Majesty’s natural-born subjects of this Kingdom.

The moment Ted Cruz was born of a natural born American mother, Ted Cruz became a natural born American citizen, irrespective of where he was born at.
And by the way, when is Donald Trump going to renounce his natural born British citizenship?

So, I’m curious. Do you instead vote for a pro big government, pro single payer health care etc, because he says he’ll make America great again?

I’m honestly asking who will do what founding fathers intended.
