If Carolina gets pressure up the middle like they usually do, Manning will be carried off the field on a stretcher. Even with the loss of Pro Bowl linebacker Thomas Davis, the Panthers defense is fast, smart, and tough.

Denver’s defense is awesome but they can’t score enough points to overcome the Panthers.

Carolina over Denver 26 to 12.

Might as well start it early Bender, since no one hardly watches the Pro Bowl which has been turned into a cheap version of a pick up game.

Gonna have to go with the Panthers. I think they’re just too strong for Denver.

Cam Newton can always revert back to his style of play before this year. He was a very a very good quarterback. Last year the Panthers were a not a very good team, with the same players they have now. Newton still looks like a 6-5 tight end playing quarterback. He does everything wrong. His throwing mechanics are terrible, but that defense gives him time to find wide open receivers, and he’s very good at hitting them. Manning no where resembles the player he once was and Denver’s defense wins games for them. They beat Pats yesterday because Pats need a better offensive line that can protect Brady. They also need another big TE other than Gronkowski. Plus their running game is usually non-existent. Brady did more with less this year than any quarterback in the league, but injuries decimated the team. All the “experts” are picking Carolina so I’m going with Denver’s defense to dominate the game and win. Hopefully Peyton Manning will retire before he gets hurt bad and is forced to retire.

“He was a very a very good quarterback.”

Meant to say he was NOT a very good quarterback.

Manning barely shows up in the second half. He has to jump on the early.

Not going to happen.

Can the football Gods really allow Peyton Manning to retire with only 1 title (won over my Bears and their Gross QB at the time) whilst Diet Manning has 2? As as older brother this rankles me.

Surely he should win and ride off into the sunset a champion whilst the cocksure young whippersnapper Cam Newton gets his comeuppance at the hands of the NFL’s top defense? That’s the storybook ending.

I’m tempted to think it could end that way, I find it a tough call.

I don’t especially care who wins though I would like ex-Bear Peanut Tillman (sadly on IR) to get a ring with CAR. Manning is a good Republican man though I find his commercials annoying at times and I resent him for beating the Bears, I was ostensibly rooting for the Colts over the Saints (I really couldn’t stand that America’s sentimental favorite vibe they had) a few years ago but found myself not unhappy that they lost.

I don’t really harbor any ill-feelings towards Cam though I’m not keen on having a Panthers win celebrated as a “Black thing” as I’m sure it would be by some. Sounds like he’s something of an arrogant jerk but I probably would be too if I were him.

I might have chosen to marinate on the decision a while but the hell with it, time to get off the pot.

Should be a good game, 2 good defenses. I’ll wager Newton makes one or two more plays than Peyton, CAR wins.

It wasn’t like Cam was competing with a ‘real’ quarterback! I mean, Carson Palmer? Really! Pitches Blease!

>>>(won over my Bears and their Gross QB at the time)<<<

Yea, I’m torn. The only thing that makes me root for Manning is the quality of team we put on the field against him . . . definitely weren’t the ‘05 Bears fer sure.

Otherwise, I would want him to get mangled.

But nah, I’m hoping he goes out on top.

Bendy! See post 8.

I’m going with the Mules decidedly on their killer pass rush. Again, Ware was spectacular and should end up as SBL MVP.

Full disclosure? I’ve never liked the Broncos since The Great John Elway “passed way”. I consider him to be a single notch above Montana in NFL History (don’t you Irish start on me!)

But, then Bobby Layne will always hold the #1 spot for me....

Colts fan all my life, my team came to my state. The Broncos can beat the Panthers. You may recall our woebegone 2015-2016 Colts were down big to the Panthers in Charlotte this season and ended up forcing overtime and should have won but lost. Denver all the way.
