My Take...
Carolina: Carolina is the top-ranked scoring team in the NFL. However, their strength, surprisingly, is not in their passing game but their running game. Carolina is 2nd in the run and their running effectiveness is enhanced by QBâs Cam Newtonâs size and running ability. Carolina should mostly run and will be challenged by Denverâs tough running defense, 3rd best in the NFL.
If Carolina passes too much, their lower-tier passing game will be shredded by Denverâs top ranked passing defense, the way NE was shredded. Remember, Denver shredded NEâs 5th ranked passing game. Carolinaâs passing game is ranked 24th.
Denver: Denverâs game is their 4th best scoring defense. They have the top ranked defense in ydg against the pass and 3rd against the run. They will be tested by Carolinaâs top-ranked scoring offense. The issue for Denver will be how to stop Carolinaâs dazzling running game. They will have to use entirely different tactics they used against NE. NE was a one-trick pony â only passing, no running â and Denver was smart enough to come up with a defensive strategy to shut down Tom Brady by basically ignoring NEâs anemic running game. The reverse is true this week. Denver needs a defensive plan to stop or at least effectively slow Carolinaâs dazzling double-and-triple-option running game with far less concern for Carolinaâs weak passing game. If anyone can do it, Denver and defensive coordinator Phillips can. Some good analysis about this by http://www.businessinsider.de/why-broncos-defense-in-trouble-against-cam-newton-2016-2?r=US&IR=T Scott Davis, Business Insider.de and http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14705931/denver-best-defense-football-facing-attack-yet-face-nfl Bill Barnwell, ESPN.
Denverâs mediocre offense will struggle against Carolinaâs tough defense.
Summary: The crux of this game will revolve around how well Carolinaâs tough running game will do against Denverâs equally tough run defense. It is unusual for the top scoring team in the NFL (Carolina) to have such a low ranking passing game (24th) so another thing to watch is if Carolina decides to pass a lot. Although all the hype is about these two QBâs, Manning and Newton, neither team has had a very good passing offense this season. Oftentimes, a coaching staff new to the Super Bowl with a weak passing game has a tendency to step out of their strength and start passing a lot to score quickly. This would be deadly for Carolina against the top Denver pass defense. Watch for Denver to intercept and sack. The key for Carolinaâs coaching staff will be sticking to the run including Cam Newtonâs running ability without getting hurt.
Overall, we have one team with the scoring edge (Carolina) while the other team has superiority in ydg (Denver). This means it should be a close game with the possibility of an upset. Should be a close, good game. The decisive metric is regular season net scoring: Carolina is #1 in the NFL while Denver is #10.
Projected winner: Carolina

I should... have know--
Them two two-timing... wenches!
But as always... I'll forgive them!
Hey Bender did you ever party with this guys LOL!
They put a TV show on after the Superbowl, it’s a coveted spot. This year I guess they don’t have any real shows so they are giving it to Colbert, he of the low ratings. He’s got Margot Robbie and Megyn Kelly.
Under normal circumstances... I'd welcome two hot babes--
But Megyn has started believing her show is hard news... and not the opinion mill has always been.
She let her Trump bashing masquerade... under a false 'Fair & Balanced' banner.
Now, Margot may have the same opinions but she doesn't wear them on her sleeve... * or elsewhere for that matter!
As for Colbert, you know what... on him!

The post SB spot isn’t that great. Half the audience is going to be going to bed or going home when the SB ends. And there’s no established next episode bounce.
There is always Downton Abbey Bender since I live on west coast I probably be watching Downton abbey and Mercy Street
Anyway...just saw the opening to the pre-game show on CBS. What do they do? They opened with clips of past Super Bowls....and the San Francisco Ballet
Why am I not surprised?
Also, in the all the clips that were shown...there was not a single Seahawks highlight.
Again...why am I not surprised?
A bump for the “real “ Super bowl Thread
...a lot of drink
Kick it off boys
Hand me another beer, big... the Super Bowl commercials begin in about an hour--
Gary Sinese has a new show!? We all need to support it.
Ya know, Liberty, Star Trek is also having its 50 Year Anniversary--
So, in... remembrance:
You Talosians are going to be so tickled... for in about 50 year we are going to ship Cam Newton up to you and his incessant "Me! Me! Me!" will keep you all in stitches for a few centuries or so.
Well, the National Anthem is being sung and Cam is in “ME!” mode while Peyton has his hand over his heart—
Answer: A burqa and a sock.
