Glenn Beck to Appear With Ted Cruz in Iowa

Conservative radio host and commentator Glenn Beck will be on the stump with GOP presidential contender Sen. Ted Cruz over the weekend in Iowa with less than two weeks before caucuses in the important early voting state.

The Cruz-supporting Keep the Promise super PAC is organizing the events where Beck will accompany Cruz in Ankeny and Waterloo, the Des Moines Register reports.

I catch a few minutes of Beck at times out of morbid curiosity (kinda like watching MSNBC). without fail, during these snippets, I always catch him and his lackeys are on a rant against Trump.

The snark and vitriol in their voices when doing these rants is what amazes me. After all, even if you are for the X guy that is not their guy, they are all better than the Dem alternative.

What the future bears with this path: Beck radio guest hosts like Allen Colmes and Stephanie Miller, followed in a few months by a crash of the Blaze “empire”. Have at this future, Beck-bots. No one will watch/listen/subscribe. This is already in progress.

Maybe they are following the Michael Smerconish model, once big on WPHT in Philly (apparently posing) as strong conservative until he went to the dark side and is now invisible (save for an hour on weekends on some cable show).

Beck’s a little bit crazy, but he has 3 hours every weekday on the radio at prime 9 to noon in my top 25 metro market area. He must be making them money, so I wouldn’t scoff at his endorsement. He must reach a lot of people.

Ted Cruzs' "waterloo" was attacking Trump behind closes doors and they denying it until the tape was released. Cruzs' downfall began when Cruz questioned whether Trump has the temperament and judgement to be CiC. go to the 1:50 minute mark to hear Cruz on Trump (and Carson).

As an observation of my perception of reality (which has been known to be out of rig with the real thing), I don't think the association makes much difference. Cruz has bigger problems that are costing him support. Some people view Beck as a nutcase, most don't have a clue who he is, and some like what he has to say. If was going to quantify the "Beck Effect" just on intuition, I'd say it costs Cruz 0.1% in the polls. Not enough to make a difference. I don't think this will be a close race, but if it is a close race, Cruz won't be in the top two. Not because of Beck.
