I’m not going to argue all those situations. They’re not part of the discussion unless and until one of them is accepted as the true story. What’s relevant is that it’s generally accepted that Obama was born in the USA and that’s how the Natural Born Citizenship issues are fended off.

Obama was granted a US birth certificate at the time of his birth.
Do you honestly believe that?

Trump is the only Democrat who can win. What a clever trick the Dems pulled to have him run as a pubbie. They new last year about hillarys legal problems... Trump is a democratic plant. Nasty but smart tactic.

What we believe isn't relevant. The fact that it's accepted and was deemed necessary is.

Trump has improved in the debates but he is still better in one-on-one interviews and paradoxically also better in his rally speeches. Trump has improved his debate performances but in the debates you are still not seeing The Best of Trump.

Not surprising considering he never did a debate in his life before the first one. Still his poll numbers have just gone up after each debate.

The Founders would never have countenanced our nation being marched around by some other country's laws. They'd never have countenanced our President being marched around by some other country's laws.

I really hope that everyone finally realized just how desperate Trump truly is./ Like Cruz said the only thing that has changed since September are the poll numbers.

So, you are not one of the Natural Born Citizenship purists that insist that BOTH parents must be US citizens in order for their child to be an NBC.

No one wins in New York Real-Estate jungle without being super intelligent. Especially a developer of buildings. One has to weave a path through local regulations, unions and liberal politicians.

No, John, I’m not. If the President is legitimately subject to legal action under another jurisdiction then that President is compromised on the international stage, and the interests of the US are compromised in turn.

This is one of the reason that I don't think Cruz was planning to win this time around. I think his long-term plan was to put this issue upfront and now and, if the courts ruled in his favor, run in 2020 and win.
It's a raising his profile this time around.
No way for me safely to judge TC's intent for 2016, but what you say regarding 2020 turned on my light bulb and I see how it could be a splendid side-benefit for Cruz' run for the Presidency then.
To: John Valentine
I don't think that part, the two parents being US citizens, was pursued. I thought birthers were brought in the wrong direction, not pursuing the established fact that the dad was not a US citizen. Instead they got played into putting everything with trying to prove that birth certificate is false.
They should not have done that unless they had physical possession of a Kenyan birth certificate.
So, yeah, I think they messed up, but it can be recouped because there was no court case about the parentage. I certainly don't want Obama's situation to be precedent for anything.

I have no doubt the Democrats would cause chaos at election time with this matter if Cruz is the candidate. It would be worse than the 2000 fiasco. They are not like the Republicans, who never called obama to account for his sealed past. Trump knows this.
To: entropy12
You project frequently?Only the truth. Cruz's numbers are rising and Trump is a desperate. Why did Trump say that it was a non-issue in September but now all of a sudden it is a n issue?

Come on, that is common sense & practical thing to do. Why bother spending time on a low polling candidate? Actually Trump is ahead in practically every state, by comfortable margins except Iowa, a Caucus state, where less than 3% voters will caucus in GOP caucuses. And Trump wants to win Iowa!

It’s like radioactive polonium. It will slowly poison the Cruz campaign.
