In reality, by body count, the most powerful weapon is the human hand.

But the Apollo system with Mark 18's is a nice backup

Star Trek red matter. Red matter was a substance capable of forming a black hole when ignited. One drop was sufficient to collapse a star or consume an entire planet.

John Creighton’s “pretty please with a cherry on top wormhole weapon” from the farscape miniseries. Pretty much can destroy an entire universe.

I agree! That Creighton Wormhole Weapon can easily munch whole galaxies. Some scientists speculate that wormholes can create a new universe at the opposite end, spitting out an explosion of matter that was consumed at the source.

Thinking of print -

Card’s MD (Molecular Disruption) device

Beserkers

Bear’s Forge of God slugs

Adams’ Volgon destructor fleets (in the last book they worked through all alternant universes).

And there is one story I can’t seem to remember the name/author. The plot dealt with someone sent to stop a automatic ship that destroys planets by lobbing balls at them until the whole planet’s surface has be hit. The plot played with the hero arriving after the ship had just “killed” a planet and was reloading. Can anyone point me to this book?
