Hillary Clinton Attacks Bernie Sanders Over Gun Control
ny times ^ | 1-10-2016 | Maggie Haberman

On CBS, Mrs. Clinton continued to knock Mr. Sanders for a past Senate vote to give gun manufacturers immunity from prosecution when a gun is used in a crime. She is seeking to highlight one of the few areas where she is to Mr. Sanders's left on an issue.

"It's the only industry in our country where we have given that kind of carte blanche to do whatever you want to do with no fear of legal consequences," Mrs. Clinton said.

She added, "And he often says, well, look, I'm from Vermont and it's different. It's not like being in New York City." She faulted him for "excuses" on the issue, saying, "It's a difference that Democratic voters in our primary can take into account."

Also, secretaries of state have no fear of legal consequences.

I mean for Hillary to seriously go out and talk about other people needing to be “held responsible”? LOL!

Shouldn't she be nice to old Bernie?

If they start cranking out those indictments she's gonna need at least one friend.

She’s desperate. He’s ahead of her in New Hampshire and right on her heels in Iowa. Her inevitable nomination may again be denied.

Does it seem that the Sanders phenomenon is the left-wing version of the Ron Paul phenomenon?

So we need to prosecute the manufacturer of any item used in a crime??

How many times have car companies been sued for liability in DWIs, drive-by shootings, or the occasional jealous wife who runs over her husband???

Or knives, or baseball bats, or frying pans.

“It’s the only industry in our country where we have given that kind of carte blanche to do whatever you want to do with no fear of legal consequences,” Mrs. Clinton said.

Untrue, if the gun manufacturers make a truly defective product, say one that blows up in your hand, you can be sure they will be sued for negligence.

I wonder if Cisco is going to be held liable for the damage to our national security that resulted from THEIR hardware being used in Hillary’s illegal email server...

(I’m not sure whose hardware was used...I’m just making a point.) =)

I do not recall any incidents where GM was prosecuted when a Malibu is used to mow down pedestrians deliberately.

The reason why the shield law exists is the leftists tried to bankrupt the firearms industry by going after them when buyers used the legal product in an illegal way.

Of course the (hopefully) prisoner in a pantsuit dislikes the immunity law.

Prosecute lawyers who successfully defend criminal clients who subsequently commit other crimes.

Include judges, parole officers, etc.

The flip side of that coin....

Should wineries, breweries, or companies that make distilled liquor be held responsible for drunk driving deaths?

Nah, I blame Exxon/Mobile. Their gas was in the vehicle.

Maybe firestone or goodyear as well.

She should, and not only for the reason you mentioned. As a Socialist, Bernie really, really wants to take all guns away from citizens. That's a mandatory step towards Socialist Paradise.

But Bernie also knows that if he even hints at that, he'll lose his Senate seat. This dilemma must be really heavy burden for ol' Bern.
