The 18-year-old victim and her father were walking through Osborn Playground in Brownsville at around 9 p.m. Friday when the two were approached by five men, investigators said.
One man brandished a gun and told the teenager's father to leave the area, police said. The girl's father then ran for help, but by the time he returned with two police officers, the five men had raped the teenager and fled, authorities said.

This is a very odd story. Why were they there so late at night? Why did they pick her? Why did the father take so long to get help that by the time he returned, all 5 had had a go? I have a feeling there is more to this. Like, rival gangs, or a pre-arranged meeting, drugs... I’m just speculating, of course.
Ditto. A real man may have lost, but would have fought to the death. BTW, forceable rape like this should merit the death penalty.
I agree it seems a bit odd. It could just be bad ir incomplete reporting or there could be more to the story. There are conflicting details in the various media reports I have read.
“I have a home in Bloomington, IL but am now a resident of GA. Illinois has no reciprocy. Iâm told I can still get a license with a canceled bill, and maybe I will.”
Get a Georgia permit.
With a Georgia permit, you can carry in your car in Illinois.
Even without a permit, you can carry an unloaded gun in a case in Illinois.

The options are explored at the link.
With the element of surprise and the dark, the balance of initiative shifts, odds are very good that one father could kill two, starting with the gunman distracted by the show, and the rest would scatter.
What did Edgar-the-Bug say to those terms?
Had they shot him the rape likely would not have occurred. It’s doubtful they would have hung around after firing a shot. He should have tried to make them shoot him. I’d much rather take a bullet and die than have one of daughters raped by five animals. The way I see it he valued his own life over his daughter’s, which I find despicable.
Kill them with what? He was unarmed. This is real life not some action movie.
Blaming the father is wrong. Blame the thugs, and the Liberals that coddle them and who strip law abiding citizens of the God given right to protect themselves and their families.
Amen.
My cousin, a NYC police lieutenant detective, at my father’s funeral in Queens, “I never go to Jamaica (Queens) without my gun.” He was serious.
Try the local mosque.
I mean, maybe I'm way off. Maybe she was just a pretty white tourist with her dad and they thought "Oh yeah." But I'd need to know more before I assume that.
Thank you. He was a pos. Why did he not stand with her or tell her to run?
On the other hand, had they shot and killed him for not leaving the area, do you think they would have left the daughter alive as an eye witness to the killing? This is a no win situation for both victims. The outcome is that they are both alive because he ran for help or they could both be dead because he stood his ground in an impossible situation. Not an easy decision to make. Of course his worst decision was to enter an unlit park with no protection.
Read my post, leave just long enough to secure something to use as a bludgeon. A rock, a pipe, a board, an umbrella, or if you find one first, even a cop.
Apply firmly to the back or side of the neck...
No, the same people. It's called the magic police theory of criminology. The police are supposed to be 100% homogeneous with the local demographic, and keep out of sight and have absolutely no contact with or knowledge of the community, until some activity or crime occurs as which point they are supposed to materialize out of thin air and antiseptically defuse the situation without making any arrests or causing any unpleasantness. The black community is the Victorian Lady of our era, who wants the world to be tidy and prim and never offend her.
You have never been to the bad neighborhoods of Brooklyn have you? A gun shot could draw little or no attention there. Plus they might have then shot the daughter or taken her to another location.
The thugs let him go so his best odds of helping her was leaving and calling for help. It is not “manly” to reduce your daughter’s chances so you can feel “tough” and better about yourself.
See my post #24, and the near instant response at 27...
You have your ways, I have mine. The truth is I wouldn’t have put my daughters in that situation.
True, they could have killed them both. I still would have fought them. No way I would have left one of daughters alone in that situation.
