Ping for the Windows ping list. . .
My remaining Windoze-boxen are running XP. Doesn’t seem to be a problem, limited usage they get.
A general OS upgrade for large corporate users is ... traumatic. There are thousands upon thousands of apps to be tested upgraded and modded.
they are trying to scare the computer savvy users who refuse to upgrade to windows 10 with this crap? Been using windows 7 for a number of years now- no issues-
Next MS will refuse to update windows 7
They are getting very aggressive with windows 10- and now they are trying to scare windows 7 users into windows 10- I wonder why- Computer Savvy peeps do NOT want windows 10 SPYWARE anywhere near their computers! But it appears MS is going to do everything possible to force us into it- even going so far as to install updates into windows 7 that nag us to get it AND spy on us
that'll take care of everything.
Obviously the weirdos are DESPERATE for everyone to have their crappy Windows 10. Well, they can hold their collective breaths and turn blue !
Microsoft new strongarm sales tactic - our old o/s’s suck and we are downloading more problems onto them so you have to switch to our new o/s.
What a twisted freak of a company it has become.
When Bill Gates sends me a check to buy all new manufacturing hardware in my shop I will think about it. Win 7 is just fine.
Having not clicked the link the story is dripping with satire
Gosh, I guess this means I better run get 10./
All I really liked about Windows is that it didn’t change. I could keep using it as it upgraded without learning a whole new way of using it. This tiles crap and other changes removed all I knew about how to run it.
Essentially, if I’m going to take the time and effort to learn a whole new system, it’s probably time to make the jump to apple.
Scare tactics for the naive. Commercially licensed XP (for financial and medical systems) is supported out to 2020, which means there will be peripheral support (printers, scanners, video cards, etc) for these systems for several more years at least. Same thing goes for Win7.
windows 7 came out in oct 2009. 6 years ago... not 10.
Oh great, Crapossela is trying to scare us onto Windows 10.
So—Microsoft admits it produces crap.
Who knew?
Yes. It won’t let the Feds monitor your computer like 10 will. Tell me I’m wrong.
Somebody’s got to say it. Why are you all still using Windows at all? Get Linux on your systems, never look back...
I really detest government intrusion into so much of our lives, but I think one small, simple law could fix much of the Microsoft fear-mongering and strong arm tactics that they use.
Require ALL software vendors to have a prominent, clear, window message option to disable ALL self-reporting options and apps. When the user selects this option, not 1 bit of data will be uploaded to the vendor. Violation of this law is a $500,000 fine per violation.
"We do worry when people are running an operating system that's 10 years old ...
And if someone just reinstalled Windows 7 RTM off the DVD they would have a 10-year old operating system. Well, until the first 150 updates ties up their bandwidth for the next few days. They are such self-serving liars, always have been, but now everyone knows it.
He also stressed it is "so incredibly important to try to end the fragmentation of the Windows install base" and to get users to a "safer place."
Exactly what someone selling a new operating system would say.
It is also exactly what someone attempting to move their user base to the most compromised version of the OS, at the strong urging of NoSuchAgency, would say.
Very few people want any part of their metrosexual operating system on anything better than a tablet, but even less would if they knew how deeply Microsoft got in bed with the Feds. They were and are the first and primary, voluntary and willing PRISM partner.
