We have the Tufted Titmice coming onto our deck each morning for sunflower seeds, along with Chickadees and Cardinals. They’re all so beautiful!

A Kitten
He's nothing much but fur
And two round eyes of blue,
He has a giant purr
And a midget mew.
He darts and pats the air,
He starts and cocks his ear,
When there is nothing there
For him to see and hear.
He runs around in rings,
But why we cannot tell;
With sideways leaps he springs
At things invisible -
Then half-way through a leap
His startled eyeballs close,
And he drops off to sleep
With one paw on his nose.

A Happy GratiTuesday to everyone here at Amy's Place!

I have Chickadees and Cardinals, too! They love the sunflower seeds. Birds brighten my day. It’s warmed up to 60..I need to go scrub the bird baths and refill.

Happy GratiTuesday!
I am glad the temperature was around 15 degrees today.
Beats the 3 degrees from yesterday!
Feels like a heat wave.
Cheers to All!

Not only that, but many of us in the mid-Atlantic and northeast states are expecting a snowstorm this week end!

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
Real People, Real God
January 20, 2016
Join together in following my example.
Philippians 3:17
Several years ago I received a letter from an Our Daily Bread reader after I had written about a family tragedy. "When you told about your tragedy," this person wrote, "I realized that the writers were real people with real problems." How true that is! I look across the list of men and women who pen these articles, and I see cancer and wayward children and unfulfilled dreams and many other kinds of loss. We are indeed just regular, real people writing about a real God who understands our real problems.
The apostle Paul stands out in the Real People Hall of Fame. He had physical problems. He had legal issues. He had interpersonal relationship struggles to deal with. And in all of this messy reality, he was setting an example for us. In Philippians 3:17, he said, "Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do."
Those around us who need the gospel--who need Jesus--are looking for believable people who can point them to our perfect Savior. And that means we must be real.
You, Lord, are perfection. Yet You welcome us imperfect people to come to You for salvation. You sent Your perfect Son to earth to die for us. Help us to be real and genuine as we seek to point people to You.
If we are true to God, we will not be false to people.
Philippians 3 is a chapter bookended by dramatic contrast. The chapter opens with Paul sharing his credentials within the realm of Judaism: his circumcision, his bloodline as a Jew, his lineage as a Benjamite, his position as a Pharisee, his rigid obedience to Moses' law, and his commitment to persecuting followers of Christ whom he saw as a threat to the faith of Israel (vv. 5-6). The contrast is found in verse 20, where he declares that because of Christ his "citizenship is in heaven." From seeking to protect the earthly Israel to being part of a heavenly kingdom is, indeed, a dramatic contrast.

A Cat in My Lap
I know I have a lot to do,
So many things - see them through.
There are clothes to clean, grass to mow,
Cookies to bake, seeds to sow.
But I really can't do all these things in a snap.
Because, you see, there's a cat in my lap.
He stretches and rolls and gives me a wink,
From his sleepy gold eyes - just a small blink.
I smooth his long tail and tickle his tummy,
He yawns and purrs to tell me that's yummy.
The telephone rings. The paper boy taps.
No move do I make. There's a cat in my lap.
Bright sunlight dances across the floor,
To warm my small friend just a bit more.
A happy prisoner am I in my chair -
Some moments of peace - not a care.
I think I'll take a little nap,
With this soft, furry ball, a cat in my lap.

Have a happy Wednesday, everyone!

*Happy Warm Fuzzy Wednesday*
To Amy's Place
Challenges And Treasure Haiku
Chairs and Tables are
Challenges that require much
Patience and Finesse
A very tall leap
is needed for a Chair. And
shorter ones later
Tables are always
near Chairs. Which is one of Life's
curious Blessings
The small Table in
My Pretty One's Treasure Room
beckons me to come
Its top is Hard and
Slippery Smooth under my
soft and gliding Paws
Shiny Things seem to
fall nearby whenever I
visit and explore
A Smooth and Pretty
Bowl seems made just for Me as
it slowly empties
Lots of Shiny Things
fall outside the Bowl waiting
closer inspection
Now I have a Safe
Place to have Fun and tease My
Curiosity!
