PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) â Oregon bakery owners who denied service to a same-sex couple have paid $135,000 in state-ordered damages â after refusing to do so for nearly six months.
The Bureau of Labor and Industries says Aaron Klein, co-owner of the Portland-area bakery, dropped off a check Monday for $136,927.07. That includes accrued interest. Klein also paid $7,000 earlier this month.

I blame judges and lawyers for allowing this abomination to happen. Judges too often make decisions based upon their Liberal souls rather than the Constitution.
I think in the end that the Go Fund Me website funded this 136k payment. Anyone, please don’t hesitate to correct me if I am wrong.
Damages? What damage was done? Certainly not $135,000 plus! I had a red-light runner almost kill me, and I got a fraction of that as a settlement for damages. I mean, I had real physical damages to my body and my car was totaled. What damage happened to those gays? Did their face contort and stay in a mishappen state? Did one have a heart attack? Stupid idiotic judgements by idiot judges.
Why did they cave?
This was never in front of a judge it was an ‘administrator’.
Unfortunately, the bakers did not have the high paid lawyers and several years of their lives to waste trying to fight it in court under “excessive fines” while the state has unlimited tax dollars to wear you out and down.
With all due respect to mom & pop, please consider the following.
As a consequence of the parents of the Kleins not making sure that their children were taught about constitutionally enumerated rights versus PC state rights that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect, the Kleins were not able to argue the following hilited clause in Section 1 of the 14th Amendment.
14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
The clause hilited above would probably have protected them in the long run from their misguided, pro-gay activist state.

Ha. Arguing your Rights, based on the Constitution is the quickest, easiest way to get one’s @ss thrown directly into the clink.
It’s all ‘president’, ‘standing’ and ‘judge’s mood’. You could cite chapter and verse, it won’t make a difference when the Fed/State want your hide.
Plus, they have *unlimited* time and $$ to grind you down...
They did...hope they use the excess (someone said they got $400K) to set up another biz and teach the queers some lessons
