A man in China purchased a first-class plane ticket - and used it to eat a year's worth of free meals at the VIP lounge at Xi'an International Airport.
The frequent diner purchased a first-class, fully refundable ticket aboard Eastern China Airline.
He used the ticket to gain access to the airport's VIP lounge, where high-rolling travelers dine for free....
The man re-booked his first-class ticket over and over again and kept the gravy train rolling.
Eastern China Airlines officials only recently figured out the man's scheme after noticing his single ticket being re-booked 300 times over one year....

Why kudos to a thief? A clever thief, but a thief nonetheless.
“Ching, ching Chinaman, sitting on a fence.
Trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents.”
My Chinese coworker had his son apply to every big name STEM school: MIT, Cal Poly, you name it. In the end, the kid went to Virginia Tech. Why? He could live at home.
He didn’t steal it. They gave it to him
Good on him.
If he can find a way to legally do better for himself, I say hear hear!
Is she one of them like my dearly departed?
Coupons + half off + double manfct coupons + loyalty card + knowing a lady that marks things down = $200 worth of stuff for $8....
I told her once I needed a new pair of khakis... the next week I had four pair and I think she spent $6.
I would have thought the downside to this would have made the scheme a waste of time.... time spent cancelling/rebooking, traveling to airport and going through security, airport parking, eating same food day after day etc.....
The cherry on top of that sundae is knowing full well that the item you are gunning for is going to be out of stock on the last day of the sale... and so you lock in with all those discounts... getting the maximum amount of rainchecks allowed.
I was one of "those people" at A&P when the big 3 lb. bags of the whole bean 8 O'clock dark Italian roast coffee would go on sale. One time I cashed in the rainchecks and had coffee that was normally $8/# for like $2.25/#... 50 pounds of it.... right into the freezer.
We have a lawyer in the Detroit area (advertises on TV). He goes every day to the Costco and visits the same sample 3 or 4 times. One of the ladies asked him if he could not afford to buy lunch and was almost fired.
Evidently he wants to be known as the ‘cheap lawyer’.
Good for her though.
Greedy people like that ought to be exposed.

My wife once went to grocery store on a double coupon day and bought several of an item that was on a clearance sale using the coupons. The cashier didn’t pay attention and the total was a negative number. Kroger owed us money for shopping there.
The Bernstein Advantage?
My brother and his wife took free bump tickets from an airline a few years ago. On their free trip, they purpose booked a nearly full flight and got another set of free tickets. I think they pulled off over 6 free trips over the years from the one ticket.
I saw what you did there.
The both of them.
I thought you were Scottish...
When I get first class travel I drink a full years of alcohol...In one sitting.
When we go to the first class lounge there is always someone at a desk checking tickets. You would think that person would have recognized the man after a while.
The freeloader ended up cashing in his fully refundable ticket and getting back all his money.
He didn't steal anything. He played the airlines like a fiddle though. And then got his money back on top of it.
Clever guy. Dumb airlines.
