As far as hypocrisy goes, this is consubstantial. We are no longer allowed to celebrate traditional American holidays or events — instead something perceived as “exotic” and therefore acceptable.

Just home from midnight mass, and what happens but someone spilled some communion wine in my line.......stunned me. I mopped it right up till the floor looked dry and carried on.

Wow-the last mishap I saw at midnight mass was when the cub was little-an acolyte swung the censer into the wall-the poor kid looked mortified, but my husband and I were barely able to contain the urge to laugh.

See #7. The Catholic church pulled this one out of the hat a couple of years ago. We say it at every Mass, but it doesn’t come easy.

Nope, when I was a kid singing latin in the choir (I'm 76)..the line in the Credo was consubstantialum Patri....they are going back to it

But it was never in the English translation, so English speakers are/were unaware of it.

Yesterday it was 74, cloudy and misty-at about 5 this morning, the wind started blowing from the NW and rain started falling-now it is 43, cloudy and damp.

But at least it is cold and wet enough that the snowbirds staying at the vaca cabin up the road have quieted down for the first time since Thursday-the neighbor on the other side of the property said she was tempted to position a lawn sprinkler at the fence line because she was sure someone over there was going to burn down this whole road.

There was so much drunken shouting and noise from several ATVs racing up and down the riverbank that you could barely hear the music blaring, at least two fights started-and in the middle of it all, they had a bonfire blazing in front of the cabin in an open pit-with the wind gusting to 30 MPH-I could see the flames from here, 3 acres away and higher than the 6 ft. fence-you can tell our economy sucks when people like that start spending weeks/months here in Winter-snowbirds in past years were not so rowdy, but we are so desperate for the $$$$ that just about anyone is welcome at discount price...
