The researchers are basing their claims on a number of Roman discoveries in Oak Island...
As well as the stone, they found carved stones on Oak Island also 'possess a language from the ancient Levant' according to Pulitzer.
Other findings include a Roman legionnaire's whistle found on Oak Island in 1901, a Roman shield 'boss' and a small Roman head sculpture found in Mexico City in 1933.
Another clue, in his report, is the presence of an invasive species of plant which was once used by Romans...
'The ceremonial sword came out of that shipwreck,' he told The Boston Standard. 'It is one incredible Roman artefact.'
He bases this on studies of his the artefacts metallic properties which match those of other ancient Roman artefacts.
'It has the same arsenic and lead signature in it. We've been able to test this sword against another one like it and it matches,' he said.
Pulitzer's report also details a number of Mi'kmaq carved images by indigenous people drawn on cave walls in Nova Scotia.
Some of these images show what Pulitzer believes to be Roman legionnaires.

Gold Carthage coins have also been discovered on the mainland near Oak Island.

For that matter, what if producers could tell the difference between old brass buttons and ancient coins?
That's interesting; afaik, Columbus' exact origin isn't ever quite certain. The Americas were known before Columbus, and he did research in Iceland regarding the lands to the west. Instead of concluding correctly that 'new' lands were involved, he decided that the fairly accurate figure for the circumference of the Earth estimated by Eratosthenes of Cyrene almost 1800 years before Columbus' time was wrong by more than half, and that China could be reached by sailing east. He didn't abandon that idea until well after most of the learned people of Europe as well as its politicians had concluded otherwise. His family then went to court (early in the 16th century) over compensation for the supposedly promised share of the New World loot, and that got settled for much less but a still decent haul.
Okay, I couldn’t remember the details so rather than pull out the family tree I found this on the net.

I descend from John Drummond.
Forgot to say but not from Catrina. I’d have to look up which child of John and Elizabeth.
The O’Nullain (Nolan and various spellings) were called the ancient ones of Ireland. They were usually attendants to the kings/leaders. Old Irish name and one day I hope to visit Ireland and check it out...but need to hit a lottery first...lol
Next week on Oak Island we meet Fred Nolan but from the pic I saw of him when he was younger I can definitely see a family resemblance and the portraits I have seen of Henry Sinclair very much resemble my own father...imagine that!
Thanks BamaBelle.

Who Built New England's Megalithic Monuments?

Note: this topic is from . Just an additional comment. The TV show's still in production, and I've been catching episodes on YouTube. The level of stupidity has risen. It's still clear to any reasonable person that there is no treasure and never has been any treasure, and never even been a Money Pit apart from some fevered imaginations of treasure seekers. The "real" location of the alleged original pit keeps eluding the searchers, who jump from hole to hole more than Bill Clinton did in his prime.
Enjoying that show but strongly suspect that some of these finds are “salted”.
Late to the game.
Clive Cussler wrote a book about this. Apparently, there are shipwrecks with amphora in South America and other physical evidence found in Texas.
possible.
Thanks FN!
He's an old sea dog himself, if memory serves. Lots of boats in his various series.
I have a dvr too. That’s how I know that History doesn’t want me to watch Curse any more. When HIST want me to quit watching a show they add all kinds of bs recut episodes and 10 minute commercials for the show so that that series screws with all our other programming. I move that show to the lowest priority and it rarely records or I just delete it.
Steel was an exotic metal obtained from recovered meteorites. Steel was very rare and precious back then. Only royalty has steel knives and swords.
Roman ships were capable of trans Atlantic voyage. Poor navigation techniques and superstition were the key hindrance preventing them.
Other than that, what have the Romans EVER done for us?
exactly- they keep ‘recounting earlier episodes’ and nearly 1/2 the ‘new show’ is nothing but going over previous segments- They also do all this moronic ‘historical investigations’ that amount to nothing- it’s maddening! It has come to the point where i don’t even watch curse anymore until the last episode where they recap everything they found- It’s been how many years now and what have they found? Practically nothing- it’;s coming to hte p oint where i won’t even watch that episode and will just wait until the news shows announce a major find if htere ever is one
