On Monday, in a press release, Donald Trump called for a "complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States." Itâs the latest in a series of envelope-pushing statements, which, according to pundits, were supposed to have killed off Trump's presidential candidacy long ago. We keep thinking Trump has gone too far. And, as measured by polls, we keep being wrong.
Maybe it's time for those of us who have predicted Trump's demiseâreporters, liberals, moderate Republicansâto face an unpleasant possibility. Trump isn't out of touch with the electorate. We are. Trump speaks for a plurality of today's Republicans, and many independents as well. That's just as true on the subject of Muslims as on other topics. One of America's two ruling parties is controlled by voters who are ready to turn the government against a religious minority.

Here is the whole article
I read the whole thing: the entire piece is a screed calling Republicans extremists because they are suspicious that Islam really is not compatible with American life.
Excellent observation.
What is the difference between fascism and islam?
I can only think of one. Islam is wrapped in a cloak of religion.
One of America's two ruling parties is controlled by voters who are ready to turn the government against a religious minority.
No, he doesn't really get it.
That religious "minority's" historical legacy is 1400 years of murder, rape, arson, total destruction and imaginative ways kill and torture men, women and children, and the savage's claim of superiority.
What freakin' right do they (and their ignorant useful idiot enablers) have to claim persecution as a "religion?"
Mohammed one won over a few believers all the years he preached about Allah. He only became popular when he advocated killing, pillaging and raping.
Trump speaks for a plurality of today’s Republicans, and many independents as well.
...
He left out a bunch of Democrats, which is a thought even more unpleasant to him.
One of America’s two ruling parties is controlled by voters who are ready to turn the government against a religious minority.
...
There are billions of Muslims and they are at war with western civilization. They aren’t a minority.

He is free to believe whatever he wants. But it won't change history. Not one whit.
thanks
