While I had intended to bypass the president's speach tonight, I was overcome at the last minute by a morbid curiosity: How big of a bomb could he drop?
I was not disappointed.
President Obama tonight delivered a tense, rehearsed, non sequitur.
He first laid out his strategy for the...what? Defeat of ISIS?
But he framed it as a strategy nevertheless. He enumerated all the elements of his current, failed, course of action.
And then he said, with that school marm tone of his: It's the right course. You know, the course that isn't working.
Then, like the committed Marxist he is, went after guns. I say, I'd certainly rather there be unfettered access to the best of modern firearms, than a non-judical "list" developed by Lois Lerner and her ilk saying who can, and cannot purchase a firearm. I believe a majority of Americans would say the same. And, certainly the courts would agree.
But, I'm not so sure about Republicans.
The, and this is the part that is likely to sit most crooked with Americans, he went on to defend Islam. Muslims are everywhere you know, and they're good Americans.
While I'm sure that's true in many cases, it just goes to show Obama's essential affinities lie not with Western Civilization, but with Islam.
Who can deny Islam is at the root of 95% of all terrorism in the world?
He's asking America to deny reality.
If they hadn’t had the guns, the pipe bombs would have been the primary weapon....and probably far more deadly.
I only heard the last part where he lectured us on how good all the mulsims were.
I think there are good middle easterners, but I don’t know if there are any good muslims.
I agree with you. Honestly, the words don’t have to be perfect. The fact that is irrefutable, is that this president is unfit to lead.
Whether we rant with perfect words or not, is inconsequential. Congress needs to take action before this guy destroys our nation.
Every citizen should be voicing that thought, and many are.
Actually he didn’t say ISIS. He said ISIL.
If the republicans fall for the declaration of war crap we’re in trouble. That will give Obama war powers.
Yes, the lecture that muslims are our friends, our co-workers (unbelievable), serve in military (remember Fort Hood) and sports heroes (tall black muslim converts.) He read very fast from TOTUS so he could get to his social engagement.
Well, if there’s more to your opinion you’ll need to share a link or post. The link you provided goes to an article about Bridgestone Tires.
I just love the way the man who never built or successfully managed anything, loves to lecture us like he knows what he is talking about. /s
Because of concern for my digestive system, I did not watch.
He declared war?
I read this somewhere as a predicted just after his first year in office.
Didn’t get into specifics but it seemed to recognize right off that Obama nothing substantial beneficial for the U.S only little kicks and pinching at the Conservative, never look for a deal.
The Democrats had a choice. Reign him in or suffer disaster for years as the party of shrill.
it was, I thought, a BS link
Well said. It is those pipe bombs that worried me most in all of this. We were lucky that part of the operation never really happened.
I did, however, read what you wrote and liked it.
I think Obama is completely delusional. His reality has nothing to do with what we are witnessing before our very eyes.
This speech, more than most of his others, was a big to-do about nothing. He said a bunch of mush ever so eloquently. His obligatory anti-gun statements were both vague and ambiguous. So much so, it is hard to see how this helps launch an anti-gun movement or provides Hillary any more of a campaign issue than she already had.
He tried to salvage some credibility by finally calling the Paris attacks, the Chattanooga attacks and the San Berdo attacks by the label of “terror.” But his effort to get space between these attacks and muslims was lame.
I feel I owe myself some sort of reward for sitting through it. Bourbon, probably.
Oldplayer
Without Jamesons I'm certain I would have puked.
It was like cleaning up after a 2 yr old with e coli.
It’s almost like Obama is being forced to say these things.
It’s like he’s being blackmailed.
Libya.
That stupid shirt got caught in Libya.
And he’s too big a chicken to acknowledge it.
And, to think I overrode my spellchecker.
He asked congress to declare war on ISIL. I hope there are enough to see what he’s trying to pull. But it’s only a little bit of hope.
