DENVER â What a game.
The best game of the NFL season to this point ended with C.J. Anderson running all alone down the left sideline, raising a hand to celebrate as he ran through the snow to give the Denver Broncos an amazing 30-24 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday night.
Anderson got past the line, got through safety Duron Harmon's tackle attempt on a third-down run, and took it 48 yards to the end zone for a dramatic comeback victory that ended the Patriots' chances at a perfect season. The big story of the game from the New England side was a knee injury to tight end Rob Gronkowski, but this was a win for Denver that stamped the Broncos as a Super Bowl contender with new quarterback Brock Osweiler.
The game was an instant classic, with the great theater of a snowy field at Sports Authority Field. The game was a defensive struggle through three quarters. Patriots running back Brandon Bolden scored on a 63-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to give New England a 21-7 lead, and that was a sign of craziness to come.
The Broncos came all the way back and took a late lead. A muffed punt by New England's Chris Harper led to one touchdown. The Broncos made a curious decision to kick a field goal from the 3-yard line with a little more than six minutes left. But after the knee injury to Gronkowski, the Broncos got the ball back and Osweiler calmly drove Denver to take the lead. He hit Andre Caldwell for a 4-yard touchdown with 1:09 left to put the Broncos ahead by a field goal.

Great game.
No matter who you were pulling for.
Peyton who?
Great game! Broncos hung in there, kept their heads, didn’t rack up too many stupid penalties, and whupped the Deflatriots. Very satisfying win. Our rookie QB looks like he has a lot of potential.
Did Belichick frown?
I enjoyed CJ Anderson’s post-game interview on NBC. The interviewer asked him what happened there on his winning play. He stumbled a bit to give a canned response, then he laughed and said I don’t know what happened. I just saw a hole open up and I ran through it.
Honesty is refreshing in this day of scripted teleprompted malarkey.
Peyton has thrown his last pass.
You can hear that NFL films music playing....this game was a classic.
Kubiak would have a hard time benching ossweiler right now in favor of a seriously underperforming manning..... Get out the popcorn I bet manning announces his retirement soon
What to do now? Maybe loan his testicles out to his kid brother?
Patriots lost their power players one by one and hung in there tough with less than what they are
Patriots did good
Meanwhile, the ‘72 Dolphins are getting the champagne ready.
yes. when the Gronk went down, that was their demise.
Pats are about to face a similar slump like the Packers are.
That was an awesome game. My wife is not really into football, but she really enjoyed the Seattle and Denver wins and watched both today. NFL could not have scripted it any better minus the injuries again to two of the star players in the league.
Hey...
How about those Vikings?
;-)
Without the power players ... they were not the Patriots ... so I'll justify the loss
yea and the refs made some really really really bad calls..
that was the highlight of the game...the sheer joy for the game expressed by the 25-year old QB and 24-year old RB Anderson.
And so well Roger Goodell refereed.
That dude has SO got to get over his panty pull!
These games are so horrifically officiated.
Yes, I am a Pat’s fan.
WE spend more time on calls/flags/replays⦠it is just plain dumb.
Can we just play freaking football?
We have the Allegeded “President “ of the NFL with a VENDETTA on his pea brain.
He makes a ridiculous amount of money for no reason,
and wants to pursue his hissy fit to save his ugly face!
Puhleeze! I watched the Bengals and the Jets too.
This is not the Football that I grew up with.
Pete Carroll was telling them what to call FGS!
The NFL is now the Pansie league,
I prefer College , but that is owned by title 9.
Football sucks.. I am sorry my boys lost , but not surprised.
We have been beat up, spit out and chewed.
That’s okay.
It is this freaking pink October, Fairy call, let’s worry about our silly helmet thing
BYTW⦠the Helmets are not “waterproof” per an NFL contract.
How stupid is that?
