According to Social Justice Internet, it’s totally fine to enjoy foods from other cultures — as long as you don’t call the food “authentic,” act like it’s out of the ordinary, or forget to get upset about Islamophobia every time you eat hummus.

If the waitstaff, cooks and cashiers are speaking Spanish, if they look Mexican, if THEY call the food authentic Mexican, then why in the world can’t I call it “authentic.”

Pizza, super burritos, piroshki, soul food, chicken pot pie, reubens, wienerschnitzel, lumpia, chow mein and hummus regularly make up weekly menus in our home.

No. I like Zaika best. I also like Dishoom during the day and Chutney Mary is a bit long in the tooth but good for entertaining. I’ve been to an *ok* but not great, and very overpriced steakhouse, near Jermyn Street, but I can’t remember the name.

I can’t remember the name. It specialized in game and steaks. I remember it was very expensive, white tablecloth, and supposed to be the best in the area. Sorry.

Anytime you're out in the daylight, in the sun, you need to be focusing on the millions of people suffering in the sun someplace. Slaves working in fields, refugees in camps, etc.

If you smile, talk (about anything other than the people suffering) or do anything for yourself then you're being totally insensitive to millions of people.

Any white person who steps out into the sunlight is completely offending so many people, and should be shamed until he learns how offensive his behavior is.

After going on two three week vacations in Mexico in the late ‘60s all I can say is Mexico can keep its authentic cuisine and I’ll stick with the styles developed in New Mexico, Southern CA and Texas.

We tried every style we could find from the TX border to well south of Mexico City and it was all so bland it would make oatmeal with cinnamon seem like a wild treat.
