The Dixie Chicks are returning to touring in a big way.
The country-music trio, which has won 13 Grammy Awards and sold 30 million albums, will hit the road in June for a North American concert trek that will visit more than 40 cities.
The group's DCX MMXVI World Tour will start June 1 in Cincinnati and conclude Oct. 10 at the Hollywood Bowl. The tour will include four other California stops, including a July 15 date at Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. All tour dates and ticket on-sale dates appear below.
It will mark the Dixie Chicks' first major road trip since 2013 and their first U.S. tour in a decade, and will follow 13 European concert dates scheduled for next spring. The group's most recent album, "Taking the Long Way Home," was released in 2006. It won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. In the interim, lead singer Natalie Maines released a solo album, 2013's "Mother," while fellow Chicks Emily Robison and Martie Maguire released two albums as the Court Yard Hounds.
Have the Dixie Chicks maintained a large fan base? Live Nation, the promoters of the tour and the owner of Sleep Train Amphitheatre, is betting the group does.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday for a majority of the tour dates by phone at (800) 746-3000 and online at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com(although the group's tour dates may not appear on those websites until later Monday morning).
An online pre-sale starts Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Citi card-holders. It will be preceded by a Tour Club pre-sale for the group's fan club members and a VIP ticket pre-sale, both of which begun Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The tour was announced Monday morning, with all the dates appearing on the group's website and a link to the dates appearing on the trio's Twitter page, where the Chicks also posted a brief video about the tour. No ticket prices have been announced as yet.
I thought they broke up years ago.
Good thoughts but we could never be that lucky !1
I’m sure they will get on stage and proclaim “We are ashamed that Obama is from Kenya”. /s
Natalie Maine is THE world’s biggest country music singer!!!!!!
Please stop reading at ‘try music singer’
I had the same thought re: which dimocRAT pol will they be shilling for?
In other news just as relevant and just as interesting, my neighbor's dog dropped a load on my lawn this morning.
As you may or may not know, the so-called "anti-war" movement is led by communist organizations. Namely, Communist Party USA ("peace" group = United for Peace and Justice), Workers World Party/Party for Socialism and Liberation ("peace" group = ANSWER), and the Revolutionary Communist Party ("peace" group = World Can't Wait).
These groups support mass murderers like Mao-tse Tung, Stalin and Che. So they are not pacifist, but rather just anti-US military. They've never met a bloody leftist uprising or revolution they didn't welcome and support.
Oh thank God! I haven’t heard an anti-American word since Obama’s speech a few minutes ago.
Are you kidding - it’s going to be “Yuuge”. There’ll be a full court press on GMA, Today, whatever CBS shows in the morning...then they’ll do the Ellen show and all the late night morons, complaining about how they’re still not on country radio. Of course, adult contemporary and top 40 channels will play them non-stop.
When all the above fails to help them sell out their shows, they’ll report receiving hate mail and fake “death threats”; and then cancel their biggest non-sellers.
Fun fun fun - if you like soap operas.
Guess not, but the fat one will probably need a forklift to get on stage.
I bet we get the “Republicans are Bad” though....have you seen where they’re playing (NY, CT, ME, Chicago, SanFransisco)?
In the second half they go down south though....Natalie will have probably stuck her foot in her mouth by then.
I thought pornography was banded on this site.
Three twits who cares
In hindsight, they started to play Bush (the band) songs on the radio so people have a short memory. Since 2003, you could never heard them play the band because of the name...
I wonder if Obama shill and fellow Dem Tim McGraw will tour with them? That’s a show I would definitely not see.
As long as they shut up about politics and just sing I’m fine with it.
Dixie = racist
Chicks = sexist
Lock up the Krispy Kremes.
Aren’t they a female midget relay team ?
