This morning as we entered our church we were met by armed security guards. We also noticed a security guard in the back door. They were dress in black uniforms with a white word 'security' on their backs. We don't know how many were in the church. So I am wondering, is this a precaution to what had happened in Paris? We have several Persian Christian refugees that are members in our church and was wondering if these security officials were there for the Persian's protection? I am wondering if any others on this website witnessed the same precaution this morning at your church. Our church is the First Presbyterian Church in Seattle.
“OMG!! There is NO security in our Catholic Church but JESUS!!! ALL WE NEED!!”
Go tell that to Pope John Paul who got shot by a Muzzie. Hope some of your fellow parishioners are packing.
I live in central KY now. I’m sure lots of us are carrying in church. They can try it, but it won’t be pretty.
gosh went to a womens BB game this afternoon and there was a moment of silence.
At our church they didn’t even mention it. It was a great sermon from James 4.
Funny, I left Seattle (my home of 45 years) to central, rural KY in 2011 because of this stuff. I bought the place two weeks before the 2008 election. I make a lot of boneheaded decisions but this was the third best one of my life. Second best was choosing my wife. First best was accepting Jesus as my savior.
Chapter and verse?
go, go..and GO. You will NEVER go wrong following our Savior. :) Whatever He is telling you: Do.
Well it is Seattle. Don’t hate me, I just left there 8 months ago to move to Michigan.
That’s a beautiful church. Maybe they hired some private security.
We go to a Southern Baptist Church; so I’m guessing that
several of the men, and maybe even a few women, were
armed. Everyone was relaxed and had a good time.
I attend a small country church and we authorized concealed carry a while ago. The bad guys would do well to stay away from conservative, rural, country churches.
I am part of our church Health And Safety team. As I put it to one of our pastors, we are the trip wire that is supposed to give our attendees a thirty second warning of any danger. Still not officially allowed to CC, but it’s not like we get patted down or anything.
Ha! It’s the “small country churches” which have the most
pistol packing mamas and papas. So, your “security” is
probably free.
All the churches I am familiar with have armed up.
Most do it quietly
But there are significant security teams out there.
At all events.
That must have been deafening.
There is no way you can KNOW that for sure regarding the
NO security comment. - Praise the Lord & pass the
ammunition!
we have SEVERAL ccl holders in our congregation - some are even retired swat folks. we feel real safe in our little church - and no one wears vests to announce they are there.
we are on our way to obtaining our ccls too.
There is no “Starbucks Christmas cup” issue. Nobody is offended by the cup.
The idea of insulting someone who is offended by the cup sounds like a fun idea to a lot of people, so the meme took off and lots of people spent a lot of time insulting people who don’t exist.
Of course there’s no need for security in a Catholic church.
That’s why the Pope has some of the best and most intense human security force just feet away from him at all times, right? The famed & ancient Swiss Guard are just carrying Bibles, right?
No security here but the homily was about the end of the world.
Love it.
