Andrew Luck out 2-6 weeks with abdominal injuries
Yahoo Sports ^ | Nov 10, 2015 | Jay Busbee

The Indianapolis Colts, already reeling with injury and performing below expectations, received even more terrible injury news on Tuesday: quarterback Andrew Luck suffered abdominal injury in the team's victory over Denver. Luck is expected to miss two to six weeks.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano announced the injury on Tuesday afternoon, saying Luck suffered a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal muscle on a fourth-quarter scramble. This is in addition to the report from earlier this season that Luck had been playing with multiple fractured ribs.

The Colts are in a bye week this week, then face the Falcons, Buccaneers, and Steelers before closing out the year with three of four games against AFC South rivals. The Colts, at 4-5, sit only a half-game ahead of the Texans and, amazingly enough, only two games ahead of the Jaguars and Titans. A prolonged absence of Luck could open the door for another team to win what has long been the most slam-dunk division championship in the NFL.

Ouch, it hurts just to read this. I hope Andrew is OK and that he doesn’t put his life in any further danger. He’s a smart guy, a gentleman and a scholar. I wonder why he even wants to be an NFL player.

Luck and Matt Hasselbeck the only two QBs listed on Colts’ roster. Not sure if they have practice squad QB.

Sign Tebow.

You can’t walk-off a lacerated kidney, brainiac.

Good grief - what happened to common sense?

Sure you can...after you rub a little dirt on it.

I’m guessing he would have to limit his scrambling with that plastic bag and tubing hidden in his pants.

Hopefully with a long rest he will be healed 100% and back to normal.

Walk it off, cupcake

Give him a salt tablet, he'll be ok.

40-year-old Hasselbeck did a pretty good job in his two starts several weeks ago, going 48 for 76 (63.2%), with 3 TDs and 0 interceptions.

You can play with cracked ribs but, torn muscles also have torn ligaments and a lacerated kidney is extraordinarily painful.

Still, God gave you two kidneys for a reason...

Yeah. I really like the guy. One tough hombre. And talented. I like how he tells the linebacker who just hits him ‘nice hit!’. It leaves them speechless.

He took a real beating Sunday - it was hard to watch. He’s one of the good guys in the NFL - has a ton of heart - sad he’s stuck on a loser like the Colts.

I think he was overrated as the #1 pick. Of course, easy to say in retrospect-—look at Tim Couch. Luck is an above average QB, not a Rogers or Brady, on a very bad team.

Luck out because he didn’t luck out and his luck ran out.

Loser? The Colts made it to the AFC Championship Game last year.

"The Colts entered the 2014 season as the defending AFC South champions, after compiling an 11-5 record during the previous season and falling to the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs.

They clinched their second straight division title with a 17-10 win over the Houston Texans in Week 15. They also went 6-0 in their division for the second straight year.

In the postseason, the Colts would defeat both the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos before losing to the eventual Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game."

They still need to sign a QB unless they have someone on their practice squad who could backup Hasselbeck while Luck is out.
