Friends of mine had their first child 2 and a half weeks ago, a little girl, Sawyer Jane. In the first week she began to have difficulty eating and sleeping. They took her to the Doctor and could find nothing wrong. They took her into the hospital and all they know is that she has some sort of infection. All the tests keep coming back negative so they have not been able to pin it down. This morning I received this message from her mother: Sawyer update: We are being transferred to UVA nicu. Sawyer's white blood cell count almost doubled from before and she is now in a critical range. We are asking for your thoughts and prayers as we embark on the next part of this journey. Sawyer is a fighter and know that Brent and I are fighting with her.

Preliminary results of the biopsy show the tumors to be BENIGN!
She not out of the woods yet, they still need to determine the cause of the digestive issues. Her WBC is the normal range, but her RBC and hemoglobin is still low (might be due to all the blood draws.)

I would like to personally thank ALL the prayer warriors. I am certain that God has something special in store for this child and all of you have played a part in His plan.

11/16 - Yes folks, we're writing this from our house! The tumor is benign, according to preliminary results, so they sent us home! ! We will be going back Wednesday, and every week after, as part of the outpatient program. They will continue to monitor her tumor through CT scans and x-rays, and her blood levels through weekly blood tests. We're not out of the woods yet, but my goodness, we're extremely blessed right now. THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING. YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS WERE HEARD. This will be my last nightly post. We will continue to keep you updated periodically. We love you all!
