Friends of mine had their first child 2 and a half weeks ago, a little girl, Sawyer Jane. In the first week she began to have difficulty eating and sleeping. They took her to the Doctor and could find nothing wrong. They took her into the hospital and all they know is that she has some sort of infection. All the tests keep coming back negative so they have not been able to pin it down. This morning I received this message from her mother: Sawyer update: We are being transferred to UVA nicu. Sawyer's white blood cell count almost doubled from before and she is now in a critical range. We are asking for your thoughts and prayers as we embark on the next part of this journey. Sawyer is a fighter and know that Brent and I are fighting with her.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
And may the blessing of God Almighty Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Rest upon you and dwell within you

Praying for this precious baby and her family. God please send Your loving arms to them right now and provide the knowledge and wisdom for the doctors to find and treat the problems. Amen.

God the father of us all send down miracle and cure this little one. Soothe her worried parents and all who love her.
Latest update on Sawyer:
11/2 - As usual, we have a mixed report from the day. Sawyer had a good day with no fever. However, she had blood back in her stool. This is the latest information:
1 - The newborn screening said she had tested positive for Cystic Fibrosis, we found out that was a FALSE positive! This was the best news of the day! !
2 - Sawyer’s white blood cell count and platelet count are both elevated and her red blood cell count and hemoglobin numbers are down. Because her hemoglobin number is so low, she will most likely have a blood transfusion tomorrow.
3 - They are continuing to approach her case from all angles and her case was presented as the case of the day for the doctors morning rounds. We love having so many brains working on her case and are still hopeful for the cause/cure /treatment for our sweet baby girl.
Baby Sawyer is fighting hard and we are continuing to fight with her. We are always doing our own research and Brent is very dedicated to helping his baby girl. Again, the support is unbelievable and we feel so blessed to have our friends, family, and community behind us on this journey.
