Great album!!!!
Ping
This album has been out for over 40 years now. The ‘96 release probably has been remastered and has some bonus material. FM radio in Detroit used to play it a lot.
I'll confess this ....
later.
“In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed”
Awesome.
Yep, definitely the greatest version. I love how Duane comes ripping into his slide solo.

Whipping Post-great song!
Whipping Post the the first time I did physical damage to myself (got bloodied) doing beauties .
Stormy Monday. Got me through many a long night.
In fact, the Allman Brothers may have been the best live act ever to hit the stage. Their live recordings are just as good as their studio tracks, which tells you just how good these guys are as musicians.
::Sigh:: Yeah it did...
Just spun the vinyl, cranked it up and laid back on the floor with headphones.

Play all night!
My Allman stories: although I didn’t know them personally, my band members did. They invited us onstage in Cincy sometime after Duane’s death. We hung out with them, but the incident I most remember was in Hollywood when I was at the Tropicana Motel when a green Vette rolled up and Greg got out. He was wasted, and tried to get a Coke out of the machine but couldn’t so I had to put the quarter in for him. “awwww, thanks man” he drawled, then went upstairs to do drugs with the late Dallas Taylor, CSNY drummer.
Greatest live album of all time!
I would put it in my top three fav live albums ever. My all time favorite, though, is Little Feat’s “Waiting for Columbus”.
âIn Memory Of Elizabeth Reedâ
Awesome.
that was the First thing I thought about when I saw this post....and for another “Whipping Post”
Thanks, man - great story.
Have been an Allman junkie since growing up in Florida in the 70s - seen them and iterations of them many, many times - never a bad show, ever.
I still spin vinyl, and Live at Fillmore East is my fav (above even Electric Ladyland and Horses).
Allman Brothers Band - Live at the Filmore East [Deluxe Edition] 2003.
This is a 2 CD set of the show. I think its the whole show.
They also put out the whole show at The Winterland Ballroom.
