They were indeed. You really can't predict future performance on the recent past. I think it'll be a good series that goes six games with my beloved Royals on top.
I'd give the Mets an advantage in starting pitching but the Royals an edge everywhere else. The Mets have some impressive hard throwers in the rotation but every guy in the Royals line up can turn a fastball around.

Zerosix is right with correcting me. The complex is on the KC MO border with Raytown and Independence, MO.
The American Royal livestock arena is down in the bottoms right near the KC, KS border but the Truman Sports Complex where the Chiefs and Royals have their two stadiums is on I-70 at the east edge of KC, MO.
Because it straddles two states and is bisected by a river junction the metro area is composed of over 35 municipal areas and communities. Kansas City, Missouri probably makes up a third or less of the population and something like that in area share.
I’m a long-suffering Cubs fan, so I’ve no dog in the fight - except my wife is from KC, big Royals supporter, so I’ll be rooting against them...
I've got family in Chicago but from the South Side. Big time Sox fans. I was told by several of them that if it was a Cubs-Royals series then I was to send them Royals gear. I guess there is no love lost for the Cubs even come World Series time.

Feel the same way about the Yankees, never set foot in Yankee Stadium (either one) and never will.

Thing is, when you are from NYC you choose, and I’m a Mets fan since I was 5.
Haven’t seen a lot of the Royals this season, but do know they won 95 games and anything can happen is a 7 game series.
Wright hasn’t done much and Duda is not doing much either.
The Mets are here because of Murphy.
If they are going to win this, other people need to step up.
