Rap and hip hop make your a low-life, looting murderer. Or an NFL/NBA star.

...men who process negative feelings with music react negatively to aggressive and sad music. What this study really found was that women on antidepressants can't feel, and aren't touched, by aggressive and sad music. So this is how it's spun.

Psychoactive drugs make people numb and unfeeling? Whodaguessed? Though the wildly hyperbolic misrepresentation of the findings is normal operation for the mental health cult.

What came first the music or the misery? Did I listen to the music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to the music? Do all those records turn you into a melancholy person? ― Nick Hornby, High Fidelity

Who decided whether a piece of music was sad, aggressive, or...whatever?
One person might find a piece of music sad and another will find the same piece inspiring or uplifting or maybe just ugly.
One music critic enlikened the prelude to Tristan und Isolde to a torture chamber - said it reminded him of a picture of a medieval martyr whose intestines were slowly being unwound onto a reel.
The people who did this so-called study are full of bunk.

DECONSTRUCTING BOBBY GOLDSBORO'S "HONEY," ONE OF THE WORST SONGS EVER MADE I see your "Honey" and raise you one "Rocky" (Austin Roberts) and "Blind Man in the Bleachers" (David Geddes). Honorable mention "Run Joey Run" (David Geddes again) and "Once You Understand" (Think)[Probably the most purely distilled '60s liberal song ever.]

I think it was the Osmonds’ “Crazy Horses” that did it for me.

I don’t know if I’ve heard any of those.
Teen Angel was a sad song, but it didn’t
create the emotional pushback in me that Honey does.

I listen to classical music; primarily instrumental. But I would say that a rousing Wagnerian chorus nicely complements acceleration from 0-70 on an interstate entry ramp.
There is dissonant and harmonious music of varying complexities. But what exactly is sad music(unless you have explicit lyrics)? I guess you cold say that as an adagio has a slow tempo, so it might be considered sad, but it can be very relaxing and peaceful.
