Three down one to go...
GO METS!
1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908! 1908!
I guess the curse is still there. :-(
I had no idea!! This is football season. Go way!!
I would be pulling for the Cubs if they were playing any other team other than my Mets.
George Will needs oxygen.
If he does, not need to rush.
Let me rephrase that.
DON’T rush.
Cubs just aren’t executing as well as the Mets. In a game of inches, they are just not there yet. The Mets are executing nearly flawlessly. Each game, you can point to few moments that the Cubs just don’t make it happen when needed, from key pitches to throws to home plate, or slight hesitations in their throw to 1st.
The results are runs where they needed to avoid them. While they haven’t made major mistakes like a young team might in the pressure of the NLCS, they just aren’t quite ready for this stage yet. Their pitching in particular has been underwhelming. The Mets pitching really hasn’t had a bad inning. A run here or there, but nothing to blow a game.
Long time (long time suffering too) Cubs fan here.
Seems to me, the team doesn’t have the ‘WE want it more’ drive in this LCS. They seemed to be happy just to be “The young talent” and “Cubs is going to be good for a long time”. [Psst, we’ve heard it in 2003.]
Mets is a better team, this post season.
Gonna do a dance when the cubs go down in flames.
Oh, yeah.
Poor Cubbies.
Murphy can S*** ** ****!!!! (ultimate INSULT)
Does Murphy have a soul?
Are you trying to get his goat??
Wilmer Flores weeping on the field after media reports that he was traded. Turns out the deal was canceled because the Mets had concerns about the health of the guy they traded for (Carlos Gomez). Flores hit a walk-off home run two days later in a big game against division rival Washington, and the team was on fire from that point on.
It read:
"Will the woman who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please come back and pick them up? They're beating the Cubs 5-2 in the bottom of the 7th Inning in the third National League Championship Series game! Thank You!"
