Full Title: Hundreds of students return to the cafeteria after Montana high school relinquishes $120,000 in federal funding and drops Michelle Obama's lunch program
The decision by officials at a high school in Montana to give up $117,000 in federal money and drop Michelle Obama's healthy lunch program has proved to be a popular and profitable success.
Business has been booming in Bozeman High School's cafeteria since its board members voted to drop the National School Lunch Program in a bid to keep students from leaving campus to eat.
The lunch program set limits on calories, fat and salt in lunches and mandated that more whole grains, fruits and vegetables should be served in order to curb the onset of childhood obesity.
Many students who weren't fans of the lunch program would leave campus to get fast food at lunch, but they've been returning now that the program is gone, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported.

Time to return the lunch menu to the locals. Michelle’s crap is a flop. And kids need a lot more protein and calories than in that crappy diet. And it looks like “used food”.
End of the Nanny State PING!
<< But its about damn time someone stood up and said FOAD to the communists in DC. >>
Americans, Republicans and conservatives alike, have been complying and cooperating with Marxists for now three generations, like sleeping hens. Finally, with a rod through our orifices, we find ourselves over the coals becoming a little uncomfortable with the temperature.
I hope we have enough applause left for ourselves to take on other things even more important than school vending machines.
We’re hell on wheels with strongly worded letters and school menues, thankfully. lol. :D
I find this remarkable since Bozeman is a college town and stocked full of liberals
Well, we can find our gonads now or when we get to the camps.
Of course I think most will be turning in those who rediscover said gonads to save their gutless selves as history shows they do, but maybe there will be enough people with guts to fix this.

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Regarding this so-called federal funding, patriots need to bear the following in mind. The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for any aspect of INTRAstate schooling, including providing funding for lunches. So the federal funding that Montana has refused is arguably Montana state revenues that corrupt Congress stole from the states in the form of unconstitutional federal taxes.
In other words, Montana would probably be using its own revenues to subsidize school lunches if the feds werent stealing this funding from Montana. Likewise for the other states. And the feds likely provide this unconstitutional funding to win votes from low-information voters, voters who dont understand that the feds dont have the constitutional authority to provide such funding.
More specifically, voters dont understand that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment Senate is not doing its job to protect the states as the Founding States had intended for the Senate to do. Senators should have killed the bill that appropriated funds for the school meal program. Instead, the Senate is helping the likewise corrupt House to pass unconstitutional appropriations bills, bills that not only steal 10th Amendment-protected state powers but also state revenues associated with those powers as evidenced by the FLOTUSs funding for school meal programs.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who help to pass unconstitutional House appropriations bills along with it.
Amazing, isn't it?
I too don't expect the drive-bys to report this rejection of the Mooch.
“Well, we can find our gonads now or when we get to the camps.”
The Waco statist bootlickers will greet us there while an orchestra plays.
I really like that!
No matter how liberal the offense, you’ll always find plenty of liberal Freepers to justify it. And often the same crew. It’s a lesser evil you know.
You think people would wonder about that regular recurring reality.
Don't Feed the Liberals!
Whatever works. As long as they rot in them I’m 100% on board.
Then the district opened a cafeteria. Not allowed to leave the building and eventually, not allowed to bring our own lunches. The food was some kind of surplus like the blocks of cheese the feds gave out to the elderly and the poor. It was putrid, but at least we could get some version of pizza, burgers and fries. Now who knows what they serve now. Tofu, I guess.

You couldn’t bring your own meal to school? Seriously?
Bingo. And they justified it for us with Terri Schiavo. They told us it’s a painless, euphoric thing.
So since it’s their idea, there is no problem.

They used to get kicked out of here pretty quickly.... :(
Fundraisers didn’t tale 3 months either...
I always walked home for lunch, but then I lived in TX, so weather wasn’t much of a problem.
My mom ran the cafeteria in our grade school—and she made good meals with the commodities the government sent to schools at that time.
We didn’t eat high on the hog, but a good meal of beans and cornbread, sometimes with soft cooked potatoes was filling, and cheap to make.
I have kept her handwritten recipes, and often go through them when I can’t figure out what to have for dinner.
BTW, if you haven’t had Steens Syrup on your cornbread, you’re missing a good desert!
“Having taught in a high school, and having seen what is served in the school cafeteria, I can promise you that if parents had to eat lunch there daily, this nonsense would have ended a long, long time ago.”
“Take Your Parent to School Day” should replace “Take your Daughters to Work Day”.
TontoKowalski but my friends just call me Bubba!
I noticed that, too.
