Full Title: Hundreds of students return to the cafeteria after Montana high school relinquishes $120,000 in federal funding and drops Michelle Obama's lunch program
The decision by officials at a high school in Montana to give up $117,000 in federal money and drop Michelle Obama's healthy lunch program has proved to be a popular and profitable success.
Business has been booming in Bozeman High School's cafeteria since its board members voted to drop the National School Lunch Program in a bid to keep students from leaving campus to eat.
The lunch program set limits on calories, fat and salt in lunches and mandated that more whole grains, fruits and vegetables should be served in order to curb the onset of childhood obesity.
Many students who weren't fans of the lunch program would leave campus to get fast food at lunch, but they've been returning now that the program is gone, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported.

Lost $120k in federal funds. A large portion of that went into the garbage cans.
They will probably make that back in short order and students won’t be starving.
This is a.good example, of an area of life where the federal government should not be involved.
We all are concerned about what our kids are eating. But there’s a big issue of why some bureaucratic or Michelle Obama should be regulating what kids have for lunch.

The local McDonald’s owner is going to hate it.
you are correct on both. Probably getting shut down by the regime is more accurate.

My grand-daughter has come home several times starving from school. When asked why she just says the Lunch was horrible and she wouldn’t eat it.
Common core is another Federal Offense.
The real crime is that Michelle Obama got $120,000 to spend to force her will on this school. This is a waste of tax dollars to force centralized government on the people, instead of letting local school districts decide how to run their lunch program.
Amen to that. Last time I looked, Wagyu beef and whole Maine lobsters were not on the cafeterias’ menus.
It's not even the "healthy" mandate. It's that everything is prepackaged. The old-school idea of a grandmotherly lady shelling beans and whipping up bread and cookies from scratch is wrong. Instead, you've got reasonably nice ladies defrosting and warming up prepackaged EVERYTHING and putting it out for kids to eat.
The quality is FAR less than you'd get in your average TV dinner.
I wouldn't feed my dog a school lunch hot dog.
The only kids who ate in the school cafeteria were the Free Lunch kids, and even they would continually beg their mothers to bring them something for lunch so they didn't have to eat that garbage.
At minimum, IRS audits for all. Liberals belong in cages if we are to survive as a species, much less a free country.
Michelle SHRIEKS her disapproval while staring at her reflection in the soundproofed Powder Room.

America’s decline began when we abandoned the tar-pot, the feather-bag, and the fencerail.
Federal Funding is the candy leftists use to lure unsuspecting citizens into their white-panneled van.
At that age, studdents need CALORIES and FAT
