The American dentist who sparked worldwide outrage in July when he killed Cecil Zimbabwes most beloved lion will not be charged with any crime because the hunt was perfectly legal, authorities said Monday.
Walter Palmer, 55, had all (his) papers in order when he tracked the rare black-maned big cat and took him down with a bow and arrow just outside Hwange National Park in the Western part of the African country, according to Reuters.
Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri told local media that Zimbabwean authorities had conducted an investigation in part with the Prosecutor General, which concluded that the Minnesota dentist was indeed hunting legally like he had long claimed and he had no idea that the lion he had killed was one of the countrys biggest tourist attractions.

“If Planned Parenthood got caught selling puppy parts theyd be shut down in 48 hrs.”
That is hilarious!! It is absolutely true.
The lion was purportedly named for Cecil (pronounced Ceh-cil) Rhodes, father of Apartheid and for whom BJ Clinton was a RHODES Scholar — until he dropped out and was no longer a Rhodes Scholar, except that Big Media never noticed that last part, and so BJ is STILL a “Rhodes Scholar”.
Complete and utter B.S.
No one in Zimbabwe had ever heard of the lion until after he shot it.
I wonder if all the Ceciloonians will show and apologize for their libel of the man. Nah.
I agree.
Thanks for the info. That’s the report I was looking for.

Some slight modifications are needed.
The person who sparked outrage among liberals, PETA types, and tearful late night liberal comedians. The outrage was hardly worldwide. People at the center of it all, in Zimbabwe, didn’t even know who Cecil the lion was until news spread about him being hunted. Even then, Zimbabweans didn’t understand the fuss, because control of wild animals are a problem in many parts of Africa.
Will the media nightly news reports even cover this????
