A non-profit that distributes e-readers in poor countries is touting the possibly world-changing effect it will achieve by distributing a new book written by Chelsea Clinton.
Worldreader, founded in 2010 by a former Amazon executive, has an admirable goal. Noting that poor children in Africa and Asia have few or no books to read, the organization distributes e-readers in developing countries, in the hopes that it will improve literacy and education.
While the organizations e-readers contain thousands of books in over three dozen languages, the organization is acting particularly proud that its e-readers will now have the new book Its Your World written by Chelsea Clinton, the privileged daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton. According to Worldreader, Clintons words will inspire young African minds and help point the way for them to change the world.
So many of todays world challenges have the biggest impact on our youth. And children and young adults feel a real sense of responsibility to do their part, the organization said in a Tuesday press release. The reality for many children around the world however, is that they dont have knowledge on what these challenges are or how to even begin to tackle them. Chelsea Clintons book, Its Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going! addresses this problem.
Clinton currently works as a board member for the Clinton Foundation, her familys massive multi-billion dollar charity enterprise, and is also closely involved with the Clinton Global Initiative. Her new book, targeted at kids aged 10-14, is intended to inspire children to take action on issues like food insecurity, gender equality, and climate change.
Clintons book was one of several hundred that were donated to Worldreader by the publisher Penguin Random House, though its receiving the most attention. Other books that were donated earlier, including titles from the Magic School Bus and Berenstain Bears series, may be more appealing to children.
Worldreader has had some links to the Clintons in the past, as founder David Risher is an invited member of the Clinton Global Initiative. At the groups 2014 meeting, he made a pledge to provide books to 5 million additional people in the next three years.
Look on the bright side, they had only one child!

Nevermind that many of these same poor children don’t even have electricity to charge these e-readers. Its the thought that counts. And the tax deduction for charitable giving....
Eh, chalk another one up for skimming the article and missing the details.
Maybe the e-book can include pictures of delicious food and they can lick the screen and get some vicarious calories...

— sorry for the double post -—
A book? I want a pony.
At least if was a paperback they would have some tp. ;-)
can’t they just give Chelsia instead. She tried to care about money but just couldn’t. The poor girl
The white bitch’s burden.
Children starving to death and the Clintons still have to make a buck with this money laundering scheme.
Sure. Give them a book by a pampered, spoiled daughter of privileged ruling elite parents.
I just finished reading Klein’s book “Unlikeable” Chelsea is the apple that didn’t fall far from the Clinton family tree. Sounds just as awful as her mother.
Very clever since the thing is printed on TOILET TISSUE!
You can say that again!
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist)
**A book? I want a pony.**
It would be the Pride of Zimbabwe!
Web couldn’t get it up again
The Clinton will do anything to get this book on the best seller lists.
It sure won’t do it on its own merits.
So your mom tells you to wear this for a few months, you go to the hospital, they knock you, and then you wake up with a brand new baby!
Always useful to have some extra fuel for the cooking fire ;-)
