GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s list of friends who are famous rappers is growing: P. Diddy is the latest to count himself among them.

“Donald Trump is a friend of mine, and he works very hard,” the “Last Night” rapper and record label founder says in an interview published Friday in The Washington Post.

I sit next to a black guy at work who is obsessed with Trump--as an object of mockery. He's following the media line that Trump is a buffoon, his plans are crazy, and he has no substance. He shares these clips from the usual media suspects with me on his phone.

He recently shared Allison Cammorota's phone interview with Trump regarding his plans for a modern-day Operation Wetback. He said nothing but made a face that read, "c'mon, this is cray-cray." A fellow co-worker chimed in about Trump throwing the Syrian refugees back. "Really compassionate," he said sarcastically. I didn't respond because what could I say? They were just regurgitating what they had been fed by the usual suspects in the media and had engaged in ZERO analysis of their own.

I'm in NYC. New Yorkers assume you are a left-winger and a registered Democrat by virtue of your presence in the city. We are 13 months out from the election so this is only to ramp up. I just want to left alone but lefties don't believe in leaving people alone. I worry that being outed as something other than a typical New York liberal will make things fairly uncomfortable in the office.
